At the time this was written (just after high school graduation) this was my magnum opus. I've gone on to write different music since then, but people tell me it's one of their favorites. I was...a bit emo in the sample text.
It's got some hard edges, and it's super moody, but I enjoy it.
I was always proud of the fact that I managed to take a small number of samples and re-use them in interesting ways.

"Wings of the Fallen" by Broam / Exiles for "Strange Customs" Finished: July 27 1998 Time: 4:50 | B Minor This song consists of 5 very unique sections. Each one describes something different. But they all pertain to this little quote: "What's worse than you suffering? Watching someone you care about suffer. Problems build... Solutions must match." --Brian Kemp Now follows the explanation behind each section.... 00-08: Section 1 "Are you trapped?" Jana this is for you. Do you live a life with no way out? 09-0D: Section 2 "Are you lonely?" Roni, this is for you. Do you have friends on the inside? No? Then it's for you too. 0E-14: Section 3 "Do you fit in?" Royal this is for you. Is there someone close by that shares your thoughts and feelings? 15-1E: Section 4 "Do you love... ...a long way away?" TG, 'Fox, Kim... This is for you. May they always be close where it counts. 1F-2A: Section 5 "Reprise" This one is for me. I hold up countless others at the expense of my own sanity... and it has prevented me from working on this tune... So I changed it. Now it's a requiem... To my friends... who are still alive, but dead on the inside like so many others... I wish I could revive you all...but no... Glad some of you don't need my revival... yet you suffer anyway. This is one of my life's great works... dedicated to humanity. ...and may the fallen get their wings. --Brian Kemp E. Nice idea for a track and build it around many parts and give each one a meanning which is not an easy thing to do.First few plays and this little tune does come across very dark and moody for the most part which is a good thing IMO.From the nice intro with the drums it builds up from there adding some nice thoughts and melodies.Overall for a track time of 4:50 it does come across very well the only down side is the samples them selfs which at times are out of tune-ish Yet it still has that lovely atmosphere it sets. Not the best track nor the worst and is worth a play and or dl .....
