I had the main sample
on my hard disk for
ages, trying to fit it
in to loads of grooves
to no avail. Then, I
started playing around
with drum samples in
FT2, using envelopes&
stuff. I'd just been
listening to Autechre,
so they had a tiny
influence - their kind
of mad cap style. It
all builds up into a
big-beat sort of
workout. The voice at
the end was added
some time after the
main tune was complete
- Supergirl/Jen (an
ICQ buddy) sent a WAV
file of her voice, so
I took a relevant bit
and stuck it on the
end. The tune's a bit
rough, but that's what
I like about it.
