                               Tracking Off!

Strange title, cool tune. I'm going back to the 80's with this one. Ah,
those were the good 'ol days. Those were the days of the greats like
Thomas Dolby, Devo, etc. I've been getting bored with current music, so I
decided to take a little trip back in time to bring you this original
number. Most of the samples were GUS patches, except for the synth
samples, which came in a sample pack the I d/l'ed from a local BBS (Thanx,
Mike!). I used two samples for the bass, and made two instruments from the
bass. Let me explain: the two bass samples were different articulations of
a picked bass. I originally made an instrument from the two basses, sort
of like a split-voice keyboard. The second bass intrument was basically
the same instrument with a split in a different place on the scale (Whew!
That was a mouthfull!). With the synth, it had a cool delay on it, and I
tracked it in such a manner to further screw with the sound. I made a
second instrument from that sample to cut it of with a volume envelope.
This was pretty experimental for me, but you don't get fresh sounds if you
don't experiment. Again, I don't take credit for the samples, just for
arranging them. As for the title, It was a working title that just stuck.

PS - This song was actually pretty well completed back in August, but I
had abandoned it for a while and having gotten around to releasing it
