Misplaced / misnumbereD by Favey Dlop-It of UnCo! Plopever Reductions another stream-of-conciousness type IT soundscape-style track, for my girlfriend because she liked 'ai9': the last one i released which was basically aliens talking to me through a dream about numbers which i then wrote down and made a track about. this track i suppose is the sequel to 'ai9', like 'ai9' was where the extra-terrestrial aliens were sending a message, now they've come back to abduct you to perform experiments, to check that their little project has gone according to plan. they've possibly got the wrong person but they're not sure as you've been misnumbered among their test subjects. anyhow, they've gone ahead with their procedures and you're not doing well to say the least in coping with their time-bending and machinery that's surrounding you. the only thing you can manage is 'there''s something strange' but every time you say it using what you believe is normal speech, time has you know it has been stretched or compressed so your voice sounds very abnormal. there are motors constantly going in the background and you can notice different speeds of different motors as they move you about from room to room or area to area. finally they finish up with their experiments after what seems like an eternity of something close to hell, or maybe worse, because you don't understand any of this, as there seems to be nothing at all familiar about anything to do with this situation. at least hell has fire and brimstone and heavy metal or something like that :). they prepare to transport you back to earth, when all of a sudden they beam you out with a clap, and upon arriving back on the earth's crusty crust, you can't remember anything but you swear something happened.. or did it?.. to get full effect, crank the bass by about +2dB at around 62Hz and the treble by about +3dB at 8 to 10kHz, played through impulse tracker with a gravis ultrasound max. playtime 19min00s commenced creating 06Mar2004_07:36 completed 23Mar2004_07:13 ?change name to 'imploded' or '23242746' 747649 06Mar2004_07:36 859458 06Mar2004_08:53 (working title is misplaced) 861645 06Mar2004_09:40 529468 06Mar2004_15:58 529492 08Mar2004_18:03 529534 08Mar2004_21:24 (name changed to misplaced/misnumbered) 530311 08Mar2004_21:48 534699 09Mar2004_00:01 537183 09Mar2004_00:15 (changed to 69 rows except last pattern) 537562 09Mar2004_00:30 (structurally complete) 537629 09Mar2004_00:53 429128 12Mar2004_01:59 429133 12Mar2004_13:12 429267 15Mar2004_23:42 429290 15Mar2004_23:58 429537 16Mar2004_19:02 430978 16Mar2004_19:44 431091 16Mar2004_19:58 431096 22Mar2004_20:05 Warped IV is still plodding along, slowly but surely. I've done some recording of acoustic guitar tracks in Brainstorm Studios, and doing rehearsals with Stef and Bendoverandphilmccracken for drum tracks on tunes by the names of Electricity, A bin of teens, Buy it With Bananachips, and Carrier Detector. There are also a few other tunes we may decide to work on as time comes but these four are the main ones that will have organic drum tracks. I'm pretty sure all will be album tracks, but you never know, some could be b-sides, or separate singles or even left out altogether, depending on how well the album gels as a whole with or without these tracks. Overall, it's not quite as chippy as Emotions Gemini, but probably as diverse in moods and styles. Fission's Opus has recently recruited a new drummer, James, and he smashes his buckets and metal discs quite well. We're rehearsing twice a week for the first time ever in the history of our merry little trio and things are looking up with already two gigs lined up in a few month's time. We've also got a few new songs being worked on, and unfortunately we won't be releasing anything much anytime soon, which is alright tho i spose. A picture disc 7" is still on the cards.. maybe. Scotch Tarts have been busking up Bondi Junction a fair bit regularly, about 3 times a week, and we've been doing really rather well monetarily out of it.. just gotta lay off the beer & save it ;). Sarah's going on tour in mid-May and then most likely going home to Scotland after that so i gotta pull my finger out and score some violin charts and get her into the studio before she leaves.. two months might sound like a long time but it goes quicker than you think. Anyhow, have a Winfield.. umm.. no :P.. (c) Davey Flop-It, 23Mar2004
