I'm actually a massive soul fan - I'm even one of those nuts who thinks it's a timeless genre and collects every track I can on vinal (!). This was taken from a series of "previously unreleased" Roy Ayers recordings that recently came out. I was constantly hearing opportunities for taking samples from these recordings due to the fact some of the tunes were intended to have more vocal parts and the such but were left unfinished and there was lots of space in the tunes. As a result I sampled a whole ton of bass notes, chord hits and drums from these recordings and put this tune together entirely from those samples :-) Apart from the extended sample at the start (which is sliced up anyway) the tune sounds completely different to anything it was sampled from. I met Roy Ayers recently when he came to Australia. Great dude. - ctrix

This is a 100% bop. Really nice low-fi feel and chill lounge aesthetic. The sparkle is really what puts it over the top though!

Because this romantic vibe is very rare in mods I GIVE YOU a 10 out of 10 for originality and vibe.

It´s an interesting idea for this music, nice touch of funk. Good samples and good composing. A very good and interesting track!
