[S.L.A.G.] ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fyre & Eyce|T.B.P. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Greetz one and all, all the way from Hamburg,Germany. This one was a pretty fun one to do. After the we finished Infinite Cosmos, we wanted to add a little more levity and energy to the next song, and for what our opinion is worth, we feel we did just that! As for the name of the song, 'S.l.a.g.'...the name is short for "SoundsLikeAGenesis" which is actually one word short of the original title which was "SoundsLikeA-Fuckin-Genesis!". So why the name change? Well it has nothing to do with censorship of bad words per'se, but rather because on character limitations of letters, and because the short version of the original name would have been 'S.L.A.F.G.'...and that sounds stupid off the tounge, so we shortened it. Also funny note, the reason we called the song that originally has nothing to do really with the song sounding completely like a Sega Mega Drive, but rather because one of our American friends, when he listened to our first song remarked "This sounds like a fucking genesis. I love it!". At first we were confused as we call the Sega 'Genesis' the Sega 'Mega-Drive' over here in Europe, which was also the original name for the system in Japan, but in realising he was from America, we understood afterwards. We also got him in this time to record a voice sample for the song specifically to immortalize those words of his that inspired the track, which he happily agreed. Anyways that's the end of that story. Out of the previous works we did, this is probably the longest one we've done so far with it clocking around 4 and 1/2 minutes, whereas our last song was just over 3, which is ironic cause this was also the quickest song we've made to date. Guess we can start flexing a bit of that creative muscles we've be gathering. Anyways thanks for listening to our track, and we hope you enjoyed listening to it as much as we enjoyed making it! Later! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- WARNING: To those using trackers such as Milky Tracker or Mad Tracker, just so we can save your eardrums from exploding, the song will not play correctly during certain patterns, as it relies on the IT format's use of Instrument envelopes and such to play correctly, so we recommend using either Impulse Tracker (requires dos), Schism Tracker,OpenMPT and XMPlay to play correctly. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- We originally planned on making a more traditional synth based tune, however we ended up changing plans when we got our hands on some good sounding retro style chiptune wave forms we got from Woolys's Chiptune Sample Pack off of Modarchive.org, so we made a chiptune song, and for our first attempt, I feel we did good. (again for what our opinion is worth), however the only two samples we didn't use from the sample pack was the bass for the bassline, which was from the song 'Guardian Dragon' by SLL of Kefrens DemoGroup, and the Cymbal which, once again, from Jazz JackRabbit. We do plan for our next release to be a more faster techno style song with our own original samples so stay tuned. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wish to contact us?
