Ring of Ice (modtomit_-_ring_of_ice.it)

One day there was a little boy from the mountains who found a ring. As he
grew older, he found that the ring gave him special powers, and that it
enhanced his intelligence. Unfortunately, the ring was cursed and froze his
heart. Now no one wants to be around him because he's so cold to them. The
boy, now a man, is all alone. When winter comes, he may not have enough to
eat. Playing with the ring by moving it between his fingers he ponders how
what set him above everyone else lowered him into isolation, and the moon
laughs at him with its paltry light. "You fool," says the moon, "to be
alone is to die in these mountains."

Angry at the ring and himself, he throws it at a wall. The ring bounces off
with a small metallic sound and lands at his feet. "This," he said, "is
Hell." But no, he was wrong about that.
