An old school instrumental, pretty well made for its time. It will sound strange to the modern generation, with strings having a fixed volume envelope for example, which makes samples start out strange in places, as if different parts are glued together. Piano is treated as a lead instrument, similar to the dream house tradition, but also probably because piano was one of those recognizable instruments that would sound good and grand and not overly digital.
But I like the ambition of this epic ballad, and it's definitely enjoyable. Some arrangement decisions remind me of the trance music of the 90s, specifically of Young American Primitive, which can't be a bad thing.
I am rating it a 6/10 and not a 7/10 simply because it is 2019. Was it the 90s or even early 2000s, it would definitely be a solid 7/10.
