the visionary

this one arrived as part of a dream (as most tunes do), a strange one where
it was only a "modtracking" theme that was briefly alluded to. when i woke
up, i was like "huh, that was brief", went back to sleep and more details
arrived by that point, which is strange because if i chose to get out of bed at
that point, perhaps i never would have created this song as a result.
or would i? was i destined to create this song regardless of the dream?
are dreams only visual cues for ideas we already have in place?

nonetheless the dream seemed to show me these 'alternative metal' mods
with quite direct song titles (i can't for the life of me remember the names,
but they were very interesting). there were versions for modarchive online,
and personal versions with vocals which if i recall didn't sound so great ha.

naturally i woke up and thought, hm i suppose i should attempt to replicate
one of the mods that existed.

for some reason one of them had a very fast tempo - like speed 3 instead of
speed 6, which is why this was essentially done quite "straight to the point"
and not much complexity to it really.
but also yeah, good idea, let's have this at speed 3 for no reason :D

nonetheless the first song that came to my head to use the instruments/samples
was deceiver's celestial - which indeed had lyrics and a "vocal" instrument,
and some other stuff which was nice to use for the verse. i had to pitchshift
some of the notes due to some missing samples but it is what it is.

i think it turned out okay either way,
it all went a bit sonic syndicate (spot the double agent 616 melody)
in flames - clayman era as well (bullet ride - dat verse)
a hungarian band AWS was also a big inspiration (nem kertunk semmit)
so yeah a kind of alternative metal/melodic death mix, blatant homages :')

though i do really like how the verse sounds not gonna lie :D lovely synth interplay

i suppose the title comes from the fact my dreams are literally predicting the
day for me these days, in both inspiration, activities, events. once you realise
how symbolism & metaphor works ie the universal language of the "divine"
aka unconscious, spirits etc etc - you start to really tap into some real shit

although i suppose it doesn't change life too much, and you can't prove it, you
can only know if you experience it yourself.

and if you know - well, then you know.
