I like where you are trying to go with this, it sounds pretty sad, but it doesn't exactly portray that feeling I would imagine from your POV. But it's nice melody and a good start too, I'd recommend remaking it but with more cinematic sounds, something like from a movie, doesn't need to have a fast tempo, just something ambient and slow that combines that chiptune melody you already have. This may not exactly work for you, but it's an idea of mine to inspire you.
