This tune creates an effective and spooky, otherwordly atmosphere. After the end of what, I wonder? The end of the world, perhaps? The melody played out in a soft flute is very laid back, not really drawing attention to itself. The percussion is tight and effective, yet also quite relaxed. Quiet organ-like chords in the background help to fill the audio field - very spooky, and the main reason the atmospherics work so well in this piece. The mood changes slightly at the end - the percussion is lost, the chords take over, complimented by the flute. Definitely signalling an end, but not exactly with a bang! AKA is one of the masters of the professional sounding mod, in my opinion. This comes in part from his excellent samples, which are clear, vibrant, tight and sharp. The percussion is excellent, and the various sounds and effects work extremely well together. The only downside to this piece is the rather annoying synchopated "ticking" sound which dominates certain sections of the piece (e.g. 1:58 to 2:45). That knocks at least a point off the score for this piece!
