I find the MOD (brotherly.mod) version better.

One of my favorites from back in the day; the tune that introduced me to the legendary Mick Rippon. A meditative song, one of the few featuring the shakuhatchi as its main instrument.

I disagree with the previous commenter suggesting that the lack of drums make this a lesser track. Not every song requires percussion, and there are more than a few shakuhatchi/pan-flute songs featuring tribal beats (Ascent of the Cloud Eagle by Necros for example). Adding percussion or additional effects would detract from the serenity this piece conveys. This 16-channel s3m is a perfect example that sometimes less is more.

This track by Mick Rippon is very soothing, almost ethereal use of the the enigma-style panflute to etch out a wonderful melody with a close resemblance to that old Bright Eyes song... I personally found it very enjoyable. Recommended

Wow, this piece of music is (concerning the Music Rating) perfect. The Shakuhatchi (the amateur would call this instrument "Pan Pipes" or Amazon Flute or sth) gives a rich and clear sound to the S3M. Mick Rippon put lots of variations in the chords and in the melody played by the Shakuhatchi. Musically spoken, Mick has outdone himself. It's just perfect. No other words needed. This piece of music is (concerning the Tech Rating) poor. Only two instruments were used throughout and within the whole track: The Shakuhatchi and a background chorus sample (playing the chords of the S3M), which I know from several tunes from the game Turrican composed by the German musician and sounds wizard Chris Huelsbeck. A big minus in this tune: Not a single part of it features drumming :( The sample quality of the two instruments could have been much better (ok, the filesize is only 125k), and Mick could have used lots of special effects and Stereo! Anyways, download and listen to the otherwise brillant and genious track.
