(cactus) cactus1000_hotmail.com http://surf.to/ Helltrot People who have heard the original will notice that I have added some panflute in towards the end but besides this there are virtually no changes... I just wish I had've put this in the original that I released yesterday. Ah well. hope you like this : ) If you are the TIS reviewer reading this then please give me a good review! I have tolerated crap reviews for too long! Greetz to the usual... And yes robin! This is background music ;)... /cts -over and outie! Well, "troubled lands" -extended version- by Cactus of Helltrot. The tune as it says is extended and from the authors text it means he has edited it and added a flute in the end, I havent heard the original so i cant compare. He uses the 32 chans fairly well, no overused double the instruments to look really advanced, he echoed the piano in some places by to get a echoeffect and that takes time and effort the piano got great rythm, not complex though nice. It tends to get a little repetetive since the main pianotheme only got minimum changes. There arnt any major chordchanges at all in the tune, it follows a arabian kinda scale, he played upon "C" and varied the different tunes in the chord. Also listen to the bass, only "C" all trough the tune, well a "a#" somewhere. The drums were plain and gave a solid beat though when i checked them out they were very basic. Overall a pretty good tune that easy could fit in a movie like the mummie or something though it is a little to repetetive. The samples arnt so special i think and the only tech he used would be the panning and echoing the piano by placing ghostnotes after the real, some vibrato on the flute, didnt sound very real though. The samples sounded pretty good and i think its fairly good to have done this tune with 500k. (i mean you can ALWAYS get better samps) This song is good composed though there is a GREAT lack of tracker-technique in my opinion.
