Lord Sushi Presents +++++++++++++++++ Calypso Cowboy +++++++++++++++++ A long time ago in the wild wild west There lived a musician the very best He traveled by horse, he caused quite a fuss He stood six feet tall and his name was Gus Now one day this fella rode into town And began to play the strangest sound The legend says he was in the saloon When he first conduct- ed his now famous tune He walked in bar, ordered some rum, Then shortly thereafter banged on his steel drum. Well, this was a noise these folks didn't know. When asked, Gus said it was called calypso (See, Gus used to have a pal named Thomas Who lived out in the western Bahamas. Thomas taught Gus about how to play In exchange for a horse and eight bails of hay.) In the back of the room was a man known as Jack. His mustache was thick and his heart was black. While Gus played the drum, Jack played poker But thought to himself "who is this joker?" Now Jack may not have known right from wrong But one thing's for sure, he hated that song He put his hand on his gun and his feet on the floor, Screamed "That's all I can stands, I can't stands no more!" Jack cocked his six shooter and aimed for the head That son of a bitch really wanted Gus dead Thankfully though, our hero was quick As he thrusted at Jack his left drum stick The throw knocked Jack's gun right out of his hand And soon he proclaimed "Gus, you're a hell of a man!" He was so impressed he reached under the bar And pulled out his very own six-stringed guitar! So what you hear now, though it may seem ample Is merely an itty bitty wee little sample Of the music produced by that now famous duo (Backed by a band they met in Toledo) If you're wondering why you've never heard these boys before It's because they played when there was no record store My only hope is that this song brings you joy And memorance of Gus, the Calypso Cowboy!
