Classification: Trance Musical Rating: Excellent I didn't believe my ear! This is trance music in such high quality, it could have been on radio! 9 minutes of trance which is perfect for a dance party. The trance song starts pretty traditionally. A mood set with drums jumping in after each second pattern in the first minute. For every minute in the first half of the module, different variations of the theme starts and stops in a well composed way. After half the song, a lead starts which is notice-worthy well panned and draws you into it, like in a sort of trance. For every minute that goes something new pops in, which keeps the listener interested in the song. Good use of special effects in the background makes the song sort of whistle in a 60's alien style. The song begins to end quite abruptly which catches the listener. Technical Rating: Professional Very good use of effects and channel alignment which makes the reviewing part less a struggle for me, hehe. Clever use of morphed samples makes the leads filters in and out. Good panning that improves the song. Interesting use of a sample which seems to have been recorded from a 60's alien attack film. Since this is an Impulse Tracker module, the use of cut off frequency could be used instead of morphed samples. That would decrease compatibility, though, so perhaps it was clever to use them. The module seems adequatelly optimized in any case. Good use of envelopes. Could have used New Note Action unless that would exageratte the reverb. The possibility is still considerable. Nothing much negative to point out. Very well done! COMPATIBILITY WARNING! Several players failed to play this song correctly. I have listed all players below with info on how they performed. WinAmp or ModPlug software are to be recommended for this module. Performance List of players (and trackers): -ModPlug Tracker: No errors. Recommended by author. -ModPlug Player: A single clipping occured which can be eliminated by putting on AGC. Otherwise it played the song well. -DeliPlayer 2: Failed to play the song, suddenly aborted, missed out several parts of the song for unknown reason. -WinAmp: Played the song perfectly. Turn down play volume to 50% to avoid clipping in some parts. -XMPlay: Failed to play pattern 21. Sounded strange in pattern 101, 103 an 104. Playback otherwise OK. //Eagle
