Ex-Spearmint --------------------------------------------- Written by Solo - July 1998 Written for the Trax in Space "Cat Compo" Enjoy the wierdness, I tried to mix a lot of strange sounds together and it turned out pretty good I think?!? Anyway notice the lead section near the end cuz it sounds like a wierd clarinet or something but it's actually my cat Smooches with some sample offset work :) Also thrill to the surround sound purring of my loony cat - sounds good with the bass turned up. As usual MODPlug fails to play this song correctly (although it's reeeaaallllyyyy close - it messes up a couple pitch bends) so I recommend MikIT or Impulse Tracker for playback. Greetz to: Cloakboy, Mysterium, Zack, Tilt, Boris, Distortion, 6maniac, ct77, Swivel Master (Aaron), Nino, and Animal. - Also - TiS Reviewers ;)

What a fun musical adventure this was! Starts off mysterious, and you have no idea where the song is going next, I guess that is a usual attribute to experimental songs. Good combination of vibes/strings/bass and sound effects early on in the song. Near the one minute mark the strings lead the way and then some vocals come in. The song picks up at 2:00 and features the bass more along with a lead of a cat meow! The cat purring and meowing samples are very clear and fit nicely. Pretty interesting what solo did with the pitch bending on the cat meowing. The introduction grabs you right away at 0:11 even though it is a bit strange. Conclusion is pretty simple with a fade-out ending. Nice use of pitch bend and effects and vocals in this piece. Solo tried something new with this song (specifically for the cat compo) and I think he succeeded with this experimental tune.
