This tune is, for the most part, done really well. There are a few times when the chords don't line up really well with what you'd expect to hear (not sure if it is the artist's choice, or a mistake). However, the tune does present a somewhat new take on this popular holiday song. There's not much of an intro, it just picks right up with the tune. The ending, however, is a simple fadeout; while it can be effective, I would have preferred to hear it end somewhat differently. Overall, the tune is an effective combination of a slightly techno style and some good chip. Technically, the tune is decent. The artist makes use of three channels for the bass drum (tripling it to increase the volume) - the rest of the samples or channels could have been decreased in volume if the bass drum wasn't loud enough. The samples are about what you'd expect for a chiptune; and the artist made some use of a panning envelope for one instrument. I'd say the 'minimalistic' aspect of the above mentioned details fit the song, though. The effetcs and actual tracking were done pretty well, too. There is just the issue of (perhaps) too many channels, and the duplicate ones mentioned above. Overall, it's a well made tune, with perhaps some room for creative and technical improvement.
