Crimeday has produced a decent Drum 'n Bass mod, here. He's exploited his sound samples for all they're worth, and sent them into a song that comes close to sounding Hardcore, but actually sounds good. His breakbeats and vocal samples are overclocked with multiple channeling to really drive up the BPMs of the song, but he understands that he needs to throw in a slower, quieter break from time to time. This is the first Drum 'n Bass mod I've heard that throws in quotes from the X-Files, but they work with the song, not against it. On one final note, it's not strict Drum 'n Bass... There's a fairly involved melody. Still, this is the closest category to file it in. There are points of brilliance here, offset by lapses into sheer amateurish mistakes. He's cut the file size down dramatically by re-using his breakbeats in amazingly creative ways... Altering the standard echo effect to overclock his drumbeats to five times the breaking power. Then, he pulls off annoying tricks like doubling-up the same sample four times, trying to push its volume past the terminal point, though all this does is to lower the volume of the other samples to stay within the global volume limits. A few other small bits and pieces force errors in certain mod players, but most will have no problem whatsoever. Overall, it's a decent listen for a genre whose fans seem starved for more mods.
