Here's something you don't see every day... A track consisting almost entirely of drumbeat, that actually sounds good. This won't be for everyone, and those who insist on melodic complexity would want to pass this up right away. It's easy to get bored with this, if you're not listening carefully... But if you give it a dedicated ear, there's enough variation throughout to keep it interesting. It's a far cry from the Drum 'n Bass of the mainstream, mostly in how it's missing most of the bass... but it does have some samples above the drumbeat, so it's not straight percussion or breakbeat. It's interesting, but there's not much to it. This piece is technically empty... Granted, it sounds good because it doesn't need much technical work, but there's been nothing at all done on the technical side. Everything fills the center channel, all is at its default volume, and the noise sample is in need of some serious normalization. Nothing more can really be said here... It's not bad technically, but there's nothing there to screw up, so it's not dramatic in the least. Final impression: Interesting as an idea, and it works, but it just doesn't have much staying power. Trackers may want to listen to this to get some ideas for drumbeats and percussion lines.
