As opposed to the first ICQ-based "tune" in the Mod Archive, this piece is actually a song, incorporating a few of ICQ's distinctive sounds. It doesn't sound bad, keeping a mellow jazz groove going through the piece, with the infamous "Uh-Oh" and "User Is Online" showing up in slightly mutated forms at odd intervals. With the chipsounds echoing in the background, this song could fit right in as the back music for one of Epic's old 2-D platform games. If you look at it from the standpoint of back music for a game, there's really not all that much to complain about with this piece... The samples it uses are archetypal "game music" sounds. That means they sound a bit artificial to anyone listening for real music, but it's the kind of muzak that's non-offensive to the ear for hours on end while you go searching through the cafeteria for the wooden spoon. However, I don't think the author used a single panning control through this whole piece, and everything comes out center channel, muddying the location a bit. Overall, this isn't a bad song in the least, and at 189K, it's worth a listen, but you'll probably just hear it and shelve it.
