This song starts out into a trance-ambient sort of pattern, with samples of (I would assume) the author saying, "I'm not that god." It's not a bad setup, but there's not much imagination outside of the mood for two minutes. Then, for some reason, at 2:13 he decides to change the mood from dark and groovy into uplifting and happy... The transition could have gone better, but the music is okay... Until he tries to bolt on an electric guitar, which completely destroys the techno ambience. Other than that, the music is passable, with quiet breaks where it needs it, and an attempt at a mood break. This song meets the bar technically, though it has a handful of problems. The one problem, though, that got into my head the most was that darn electric guitar in the mood break. The sample simply didn't fit in the song. Even if it had been a straight guitar note, it might have worked, but the sample slid into the note. Trying to play a melody with a sample that's built for long chords just doesn't work. Add that to the one other guitar sample used, which was panned exactly opposite so that it wrecked the illusion again, and you have something that's unfortunately annoying to the technician's ear. Still, those were the only real faults with this piece, as everything else worked fairly well together. This could be a decent download if you want something mellow but dark, if you can ignore the mood break.
