This little number melds in a combination of acoustic strings and techno flanges, and doesn't sound half bad at it. Musically, it works well enough. The passages that run completely acoustic tend to sound much better than the parts where the flanges are mixed in, but it does need the extra random factor to fill out the sound, and it's an audible difference. Though it's not the most breathtaking or groundbreaking piece on the planet, this ballad dedicated to Ingrid Peters is certainly a worthy bit of music, the intensity rolling in and out to build up to a very nice climax, with a good rollout ending. Silencer knew what he was doing with this piece, and most of the pre-work was done very nicely. The only real detractions from the piece are sloppy handling on an orchestra hit, and the fact that the somwhat random panning on the flange hits are a bit -too- random... They demand attention, drawing it away from the real melody of the piece. The rest of the technical work is all but fabulous, though... Ideal sample and instrument rendering, and superb fading options bring this piece to a very good close. An interesting mix of instruments for the style, but this piece has something to offer for people who are looking for something slower, with a more instrospective feel.
