How well you can rate this piece depends on how you listen to it... As a single piece, it's incoherent, disconnected, and rambles all over the place. However, if you listen to it as a medley of different songs in different styles, it shows a much more pleasant face. Most of the segments revolve around a distinctive style of Spanish or Latin guitar, translated very well into this format. For a four-minute piece, the author fits in a good number of dramatically different segments, and they all sound very good, if you're looking for something out of the way of the normal techno and other hardcore music. He ranges from classical guitar, to Salsa, to guitar/flute duet, to freestyle piano and jazz... A very rewarding setup all around. It-Alien definitely knows what he's doing with most of the instruments involved here. The samples are ideal for the sound and mood. He's touched up the guitar with expert slidework, managed to pull off a convincing piano and flute, and set up a Latin percussion section with a practiced ease. This is a song where there is much evidence of both musical talent and technical skill, and both of them in spades. Listen to this for a break from all of the techno and rock bogging down the tracks... It's not soft, though. You'll find plenty of energy and intensity in the notes of this diverse piece.
