If you are very into the musical style of Meat Beat Manifesto or other semi-experimental electronica artists, then you will probably like Hot Like Fire remix. It has a nice laid-back beat, the vocal samples are nicely done and intermix with the rest of the piece, and nothing really stands out as being done poorly. I especially like the fact that neither the bass nor the drums infringe on the main point of the song, but yet they add to the song so much. The piece does not get boring, for it is always changing. At the same time, it doesn't stray too far from its main theme, so the listener does not get lost. Personally, I am not very much into this type of music, but I did not let it detract from the overall rating I gave the song. The samples used in this piece are nice and clean, and they all fit into the song well. Whoever Maelcum is using for the vocals is very talented, and a lot of work seemed to go into editing them to make them sound clean. The layout of the piece is a bit incoherent, but that's normal for this style of music. Very nicely done in terms of technique.
