This is a good tune - it's not quite a true trance tune; but there are some elements of trance present. The tune starts off with a really interesting and perplexing introduction which progresses nicely into the continuing sections of the track. The effects all sound quite good, and really add to the overall effect of the tune. Before long, the pace of the tune picks up and we hear some good progressions coming through. There's some great stereo work present; it helps provide a wonderful character in the tune. The various ideas of the tune all work really well; there's a great atmosphere in the tune! I've not heard the original (this is apparently a remix) but this version sounds great - very nice work. On the technical side of things, there seems to be some pretty good work. The samples all sound pretty good; if not a little retro (probably intended to be this way). The tracking work seems pretty solid, and the artist makes good use of effects. After pattern 27, the artist did leave some samples hanging over from the previous section without cutting them off or muting them; it's more of a technical problem than a musical one, though, as you can't hear the sounds without muting the other channels (the channels in question are 26-28). The samples all sound pretty good as they're used, but several loop points could have been chosen better. The volume envelopes used are pretty effective. All in all, it's a tune with slightly above-average technical work that has a great sound and atmosphere.
