This is what I call good techno. It's not brash and noisy and dark like industrial music, it's not annoyingly repetetive and simplistic like dance music, and it's long enough that you can sink your teeth into it - but not excessively long. Kivikeh is a nice synth/breakbeat song, with a great chord progression and some very nice percussion. It's always interesting to listen to, the authors throw in some changes with every pattern so that it never gets boring or repetetive. In fact, not a single pattern is repeated. Masterful work on the percussion, even if one of the samples IS a drum loop. Good, satisfying ending. Well done! Samples sound great. They're all 8-bit, but I didn't notice any detriment to the sound. Good job on tracking the percussion - lesser trackers would have left the song up to the breakbeat completely, whereas here the breakbeat is all part of a larger set of percussion instruments playing. Why no stereo? Adding some stereo panning could have added depth to the song. Volume levels are good throughout, nothing was excessively loud or soft, just about everything sounded right.
