This is a neat sounding tune, which could have made much better use of effects and some more advanced tracking. It does get you thinking of waking up one morning on Mars though! :) The sounds that the artist uses are pretty good, though it tends to be a bit repetitive. It has really good "Twentieth Century" sounding progressions with "tall/thick chords" and all. The samples seem to blend together well, and the tune moves from one section to the next without losing it's character. The only thing I really thought was strange is that the tune seemed to be quite a bit softer (volume wise) than most other tracks; I had to crank the volume up a bit to really listen to it. Overall, the music is interesting, but it would really have been much more enjoyable had the artist used some more effects. On the technical side, I quickly found that the artist intended this tune to repeat :) It already flows along nicely, so this wasn't much of a surprise. However, the artist doesn't really use any effects to produce this mellow track. He's used the set volume command exclusively, and I really think a track like this would definately benefit from some neat pannings. Also, maybe some of the effects could have used some glissandos or tone portamentos. For a lot of the song, some volume slides would have also added to the atmosphere. The samples were really nice, though one or two could have had some better loop points. Also, the artist has varied the lengths of the patterns to really make it more odd sounding; which is good, for this style. :)
