This is a convertion of the famouse "Nothing else matters" by Metallica. Though i'm not a huge fan of Metallica, i remember this to be one of thier best works, in my opinion. This is the first time i come across a copy of that song, and i'm pleased to say its quite good. The classic guitar sounds good, however its too short, and creating many holes in the classic guitar parts, giving a rather dry and empty sound to it. The trash guitar sample is bad and overused. In many places its very loud, and just brings noise, nothing more. Its also slitely out of tune. The background voices are ok, set to the right volume they serve the piece well. The track mostely is accurate and stays loyal to the origin, however there are exceptions, such as patterns 10 and 11. They seem to be musically wrong, not the same chords. As the origin, the song ends in a fadeout. The fadeout is good. Its smooth and not too fast or too slow, just right. Overall, its a good convertion of the song, a more close attention on the details could make it better, also better volume modifications would create a better expression for the entire piece. Technically its not very impressive, however its not bad either. The artist/s have used mostly volume control effects, not very effectivly i must say. Some parts are emphasized too much, others too little. The composer/s also used portamento up and down effects, mostly for a tiny spot effect. Also the vibrato effect was used in some places, with a nice result in the leads. The samples are in bad shape, but this is hardely surprising because its originated in the BBS age. If Metallica is your group, then this is worth a download.
