This song of mine did in a certain sense win the past metal compo. It was written before I even knew about the competition, the solution to submit it to the running was a kind of coincidence. I read the rules carefully as prompted, I realized that they didn't say did the range of time concern the uploading only. So I thought: "What the hell..." It basically didn't say were the ones finished in the nearby times also approved. And the term 'compo', resembling the often passed word 'competition', was a relatively new one for me when I arranged this filement, but I might have had even too much overpower if I had started a whole new track within the range of time. It might have been better to submit just a sample of what you are able to accomplish than to spend a lot of time writing backings and other stuff already written at least once. The song was of the approach I'd use writing within the range of time, and I could already imagine what it would be like if there would be no further entries at least trying to sound like real metal after a disconnection. The song was said to be quite repetitive, but that was because I thought it should have the usual song structure that is based on verses and chorus. It sounded odd because I thought it would be better if the lyrics and the vocal melodies were left "open", the lead guitar in the chorus has a vocalist like presence in my opinion. And the verse melody is often quite simple. The solution makes it more ideal for lyric writing and vocal practice, it also doesn't sound very predestined in this way. Maybe the only detail I'd change is the drum fill in the chorus, I left it there because the song and the rest would have turned out to be unstable at some point if I had picked a more 'sophisticated' solution. Not to mention it sounds like it is exactly the thing I'd want the song to have, maybe it's modesty that can make the greater difference. This song quality is what I'd produce when having spare time on a pair of evenings and a bit more self esteem than normally. Actually the song might have indeed been given the last treatments after the compo was started, at least I can't recall that it wasn't. A late sketch phase is what the track might have been having at the beginning of the period. What I recall is that I had a throughout listen of the track and did some easy but significant alterings just before the upload... Maybe some special mixing also was applied to renew the sound to a certain level. - WandererOfDeis

Great track from the beginning till the end. Very good song idea and great composing. This song has all what a rock/metal needs over 8 minutes full of power and feeling. Only great!

I don't know if I remember extactly, but I think this module even won the metal compo at ModArchive... Needless to say, why :) It sounds really great and I'm impressed, really. Some of the samps are maybe a bit low-fi, but you won't really recognize it the mix.

A great fusion of melody and heaviness!
