-->MOCKING BIRD<-- -by- DAVE KHAYAT --------------------------- Dave Khayat, 1998 Just can't find a style, can I? I've tried speed- garage, techno, d&b, soul, pop, rock, even classical, and I'm still writing stuff like this! Wow, I'm a gimp. CREDITZ & SONG INFO FOLLOW Follow the arrow if you're stupid. I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I V This song is dedicated to the wonderful Mr Johnson, who, apart from teaching me English at my preparatory school, was obsessed with Mocking Birds. Well, Harper Lee's novel actually. Anyway, this took away from me that half-hour after Neighbours on a Thursday afternoon. ___________________________ >>\MOCKING BIRD/<< by Dave --------------------Khayat 30/7/98 |------- Approx Length: 2:02 min:sec Ripped instruments from anywhere. Even though blatantly amateurish and there are some quite "wrong" notes, this song has never failed to bring a grin to my contorted face. A catchy chromatic slide down the scale with continuing simple root arpeggios makes it almost... good! I've been singing it all day... basically this is a quick-fix. Just like Bomberman relieved stress, this will relieve... anything! If there's a song stuck in your head, then listen to this to get it out. But watch it, this'll replace it... Admittedly, Dave could have done more with this effort. But he's done well for himself. Technically it's not fantastic. Hell, it ain't even good. All Dave has done is simply get a C-E-G arpeggio and repeated it, lowering the basenote by a semitone each time. He's also done the unforgivable and brought in instruments one-by-one - but when it's all patted together... it's kinda good! It's earned a place in my playlist anyway.. and not all songs get there!
