Classification: Demostyle/Chiptune Musical Rating: Good The module starts with a synth, bass and a "rolling" chip. A few seconds later it is followed with soft MIDI-like drums, and a very nice chip lead with your typical tone portamento and volume slides. The song is kind of built on the synth, drums, chip and the bass from pattern 4 and 5. And the biggest difference between the followed song is the rather professionally done chip lead. The song is two and a half minute long and is quite average for a demostyle chill module. The panning is OK. The drums are soft and echoing but in general could do good from more variation. The bass is merelly a looped halfpattern being transposed which is OK. A creative lead, a good chill atmosphere, great use of effects is what makes this module excel from your average demostyle tune. Technical Rating: Semi-professional Lots of effects like set volume, volume slides, panning, tone portamento are in use in a very professional way. The reverb created in the lead just out of the use of effects is very powerful. Well done! It shows experience with chips. The balance in the sound is near perfect. Altough this is not an IT module, some more use of volume envelopes could be good on, for example, the bass to create some slight reverb. Instead of duplicating like in pattern 10, the artist could have reused older identical patterns to bring down the file size a few kB. The samples are optimised which is not so surprising for a song that uses chip samples. //Eagle
