The Retrofilter(tm) Mark IIa creates brand new music from tunes which can be as old as one or two years. It does this using a relatively simple equation (below) pioneered by (M)Labs in early 1995. The Retrofilter(tm) Mark IIa can be purchased directly from (M)Labs. Finance is available. ╔═════════════════════╗ ║ O = Old Song ║ ║ S = Scream Tracker ║ ║ I = Impulse Tracker ║ N = (O + S) / (I + E) ║ E = Experience ║ ║ N = New Music ║ ╚═════════════════════╝ ___________________________________________________________________________ What the...?: This tune began it's life over a year ago in June 1996 with a working title of Piano Man. After utilising the wonders of the Retrofilter(tm) Mark IIa I produced this new track! The new name came from my bored brain when I was sitting at work doing one of my tasks... retrofitting. This is done when a copy of a program I changed was changed since I took a 'copy' of it from our production system. I need to make sure that the changes made by the other person are in my copy... so it's a pretty boring job. *yawn* The only thing that really remains of the original is the kick, snare and piano line... I was trying to get a convincing delayed reverb happening (that's why the reverb on the snare keeps coming in and out...to make sure you hear it!)... ANYWAY... here it is (finally!) Hopeyalikeit! ___________________________________________________________________________ Samples: All voice samples ripped off the 'bonus' CD with the Pulp Fiction soundtrack of Quentin Tarantino talking about the movie and the music. The cool 'bridge' beat came from the song Da Funk by Daft Punk. The rest came from my Korg 01/W synth... ___________________________________________________________________________ Howdies: Alex A, Alex L, ASH, Blue Eyez, COMet, dupont, Doc, hunz, logos, MikMak, Mild, nymn, no-brain, GeneS, Pauly W, Plague, Pulse, riders, Rusty George, Sidewinder, SilentHawk, Steel, StereoMan, Oystein, Tan*, TLA, Usman, WAVE, WingMan, Yerastica and all on #trax ___________________________________________________________________________ Contact (M)Rated: E-mail (home) : soutarm_ocean.com.au E-mail (work) : msoutar_nag.national.com.au (M)Rated's Listening Lounge : http://members.ocean.com.au/soutarm ICQ : 808675 ...or on #trax (log onto IRC server neato.org and join #trax chat room) ___________________________________________________________________________ All materials (C)Copyright (M)Rated 1997 All rights reserved ___________________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________________________ Shite!
