This song is a very good soft rock piece. It start with a solo guitar playing the main background harmony line, then the drum line kicks in, melting nicely with the playing pattern of the guitar. The drums are greatly used, adding tension just before the arriving of the melody. The melody is lively and real sounding. Musically the melody seems to be just jamming around without going in any specific direction; it's definitively a mood song. Halfway before the end of the song, a slightly different musical direction is taken; the song breaks and the guitar playing the harmony line is emphasized again, allowing the twist to be introduced without sounding unnatural or too quick; then the song starts again, this second part is a variation around the first one, using the same instruments , but with more tension, i wouldn't say that it was predictable at the first listen, but it has a "dejà-vu" vibe. The short length of the song prevent it from being repetitive, which is a good thing. The textures used are very classic for the style and even though it's good, the only drawback that could be pointed out is that the song doesn't shine so much on the originality side. The samples are of average quality, the author used a set of samples for each instruments to create variations. Some samples have background noise... was it done on purpose? i'm not sure, but anyway, it add warmth and prevent the song from sounding ice-cold. Effects are not overused; in fact, most of the song just use volume slide and panning effects. Speaking of panning, the stereo image of the song is well balanced, but not wide enough, a more adventurous use of panning (especially on the lead) would probably add life to this tune.
