_Soar_ is my MC4 Veteran entry. It placed #13 out of 96 Veteran
entries.

I'm pretty proud of this little tune. It was started quite a while
before MC4; at the time, I had no intention of entering it in the MC, but
when the deadline was fast approaching, it was the best candidate for
entry.
Because I only decided at the last minute to submit it for MC4,
it is a rushed piece. ("Yeah, yeah. That's what they all say.") It is
quite a bit shorter than I had originally envisioned, and the ending was
completed on the day of the deadline.
On the music itself: I'm most proud of the guitar lead / melody in
this piece. It was one of those musical ideas that come straight out of
the fertile compost heap that is the mind. :) I was able to put that
melody down in one sitting, which is abnormal for me. (I usually take
quite a long time to write something I'm happy with).
That melody is what inspired the title.

This is a very easy listening type. This is the type of song that you can sit back and close your eyes and let the world just pass you by. The guitars lead you onto a journey you'll want to take over and over again. The instruments were well thought out and very clear sounding. The samples were very good in quality and in clarity and they were mixed together in a very smooth fashion
