Into the Steel Jungle ________________ A. Hathaway reworked Mar '98 ________________ This song uses alot of ripped samples. The echo marimba is the only one thats mine. I don't know all of those great mod artists I should give credit to for the samples, but thank you anyway. ________________ I hope you like the tune. It's not long, but it gets the feeling across. ________________ Contact me with comments or if you need original music for any purpose. a_hath_ yahoo.com or kashiah_ capital.net web site: capital.net/~kashiah don't forget the http://www. before the rest ------------------ Echo marimba

This piece is quite well constructed for the style, and the complexity is evident. The -dark- atmosphere is well established and maintained, through the echoing marimba and the shots of "noise" scattered throughout. Later, a nice lightening effect is created, as the tonality changes from minor to err... slightly less minor, and the dark bass and noise are replaced by strings and panflute. Because of the complexity, it verges on "muddy" for much of the piece. Still, a well composed piece of industrial techno. Overall, the technical side of things was less complex than the musical side. The sample quality in this piece is fair, but the samples that are used are used well, to the effect that is wanted in this style of music. The volume and panning envelopes are put to good use in this piece, and the panning is quite good, although some of the tune could have been moved through the left/right a bit more, instead of staying around the centre position.
