Remember the good old days of the Commodore 64? Remember when there was really only *one* musician who everyone knew of in the games (David Whittaker)? Well, he made a tune for an old game called "Super Stuntman", and obviously he was aware that Commodore 64's were pretty crap as far as quality went, so he often had to work quite hard to get songs which people would enjoy. This isn't a very good representation of his music, but I suppose it does the job. The C64 music artists had to make TUNES rather than just groovy sounds because with 4bit sound, you don't have a lot of options. 3 (sometimes 4) channel music, and the entire system only had 128k of ram, so you'd end up with 6k songs that were absolutely brilliant. I feel that this is a bit "harsh" on the ears, but its not bad just the same. The samples sound almost the same, but then again, I don't fully remember the game itself. The drums have been enhanced, but there was little point because the rest of the song hasn't. Perhaps he should have either left it the way it was, or revamped ALL the intruments?
