It was a rainy day, and my computer had been away for three weeks because of a broken power supply. I was sitting with my beloved Yamaha CS2x synthesizer and played on a selfmade performance patch consisting of a combination of a steel guitar and a flute. I played in a total of five or six hours that day, and during that time I wrote this melody. In the evening I went up to LitteElk's place and started tracking this song, which is inspired by everything from the old traditional Norwegian song "Kom Mai Du Skjoenne Milde" to Celtic music, spanish music (I guess...) and a lot of other things. Oh, and another thing... It seems "Kom Mai Du Skjoenne Milde" isn't a traditional Norwegian song after all... It's probably some Mozart song some shameless Norwegians put a Norwegian text to... :P So much for that national feel I thought I had added to the song... This song was influenced by the Norwegian landscapes, especially around where I live. Maybe not the most exciting influence but that's honestly the way it was =) After finishing this song I imagined a voyage when listening to it..... That old man and the sea we all have somewhere in our head =) Sample credits: --------------- *The harp was made by Walkman *The other multi instruments were converted from some MIDI banks by LitteElk... *The chrash cymbal and reversed cymbal were taken from Awesome's "Ancient Stories"... *Samle 75 - 83 were taken from a 60 minute compo Elk joined some day... *I don't know where I got the basses from... *The birds sample came from a song by Aderax.....
