Late At Night.... Ah i love this tune! it's so relaxing! The first half minute is pure rythm with a strong bass drum, then the piano arp fades in slowly, and everything develops. zanoma makes a nice use of a d&b drumline, it fits very well. my favourite part of this tune is around 5:30. i will stop writing for now, just download this tune, download modplug if you don't already have it and listen!

OK, so I am reviewing 2 songs by the same artist (the previous was Believe, which is on the top 10 for November 2002), but for good reason - this songs kicks major ass, and after watching it go relatively unnoticed for several months, I feel it is time it gets the attention it warrants. It's not that the melody is spectacular, but simply that it sounds perfect, and is a thoroughly professional trance tune. Too often tracked music sounds tracked (i.e., random samples just thrown together), and Zanoma is one of the few artists who can produce music that sounds seamless (for lack of a better word). Zanoma is a portamento and pitch offset wizard. He masterfully plays with the synths in this song, and I would rate this song a masterpiece simply from the sheer effort that seems to have gone into its creation. My only gripe - this guy need's an artist page, and to submit some more music. Currently, he has three songs on modarchive: Joy, Late at Night, and Believe, all of which are superlative.

Late At Night Composed by Zanoma Date of completion: 30th July, 2002 Time : 9 minutes 6 seconds Tempo: 135bpm Style: Dream Trance Software used: ModPlug Tracker 1.16 (www.modplug.com) Song Info: Try closing your eyes as you listen to this song. :) Feels good, huh? All samples included in this song are ripped from other works and are modified to spice up its quality. I'm sorry, but I'm afraid that I don't have any proper equipments needed to develop my own samples. (Except the ability to record sounds from the microphone. But then again, my microphone is a small, cheap and crappy one.) :) If you recognize any samples you think it was yours, I just wanted to say thanks to you for letting me use it. Sorry because a lot of samples that I've borrowed, I forgot who did them in the first place. Also, none of the samples that I ripped are from commercial CD whatsoever. Please, play on ModPlug Tracker 1.16 or higher or ModPlug Player 1.46 or higher only! Winamp plays this module incorrectly. Impulse Tracker may crash upon loading this module (a total no-no). Be sure to have the latest version of ModPlug before playing this song... Technical option: Please set Reverb to "Auditorium" and move the slider to precisely in between Low and High. Do not enable Reverb. (This module has already being set to internally enable the reverb effect on only certain channels. However, you can optionally delete all S99 commands at the beginning in the first pattern and it can still sound right. That is if you don't mind having no nice reverb in this song...) Please do not enable Surround or even AGC. All song patterns data are copyrighted by me. All samples data are copyrighted by respective owners, whoever you are. Theme must for lovers of trance. Well-structured, and one with which you can learn a lot. Great!
