Classification: Acid/New Age Musical Rating: Very Good An original and nifty Acid song which is not very far from the excellent. Starts with a gargling (harmonised) string chord and gets quickly accompanied with squeaks and bubbles and a few seconds later with a nice reasonanced gargling (harmonised) sine chord. A nice modern theme which kind of make you think of people walking around with cell-phones amoung large buildings. The rhythm is catchy and nifty which makes you stomp with your feet and dig a little. The percussions gets a little monotonous, though, even though they were finelly managed; yet that only puts your concentration on the gargling melody. The melody is similiar through the song but improved by smart use of effects. The end feels a little too abrupt. A lil echo (replay the same notes 2 beats below in a 1/5 or 1/4 the volume) to round it up a little would be good. Technical Rating: Semi-Pro Clever use of effects on the chords and good organizing of the percussions. Good chooise of samples. The chords echoes improved the leads a lot. A smoothing volume envelope with Note Off on the leads would improve the lead slightly. Smart use of the channels. I liked the use of retrigger note on pattern 4, it makes the bubble sound like a log smacked towards another log. Smart use of glissando (tone portamento) on the leads which makes the leads slide into the new tones. I'd like to see a little compression being done on several samples, especially sample 13, which loops a part which could be halved since the later half is identical with the earlier. That could have saved about 200KB space. Sample 14 could be looped and halved, too. //Eagle P.S. This is the kind of music that fits in when you are driving in a car. Turn it to MP3 and put it on a CD or into your MP3.
