August night

May 18, 1995
The august sun has long
since set, but the warmth
still persists. You look
about, and barely see any-
thing through the darkness.
You seem to know here the
trees are though, almost
as if by some other sence.
They 'feel' calm, but that
cannot help you. For
tonight, in the deafening
silence and ultimate
stillness of the woods,
you are being hunted.
Your hairs bristle partly
from the invigorating
fresh air, partly from
knowing that he's out there
looking for you. So you
have to get him first.
You feel like you've never
been this still in your
life. A breeze pickes up,
and it makes you feel like
running, but you can't now.
He'll hear you. You step
quietly towards a tree,
when you hear something.
Worth investigating. You
peer toward the direction
of the sound, and see the
worst possible thing.
Leaping through the air,
hands outstreched to the
sky.... here he comes,
right towards you. You
react, but it is too late.
You're in a headlock. Your
advarsary screams his
victory cry into the night:
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! The
Obnoxious Avenger strikes
again!"  Then he runs off
to the store. You follow,
for after all, you now owe
him a coke.
