Bass drum Snare drum Side stick Crash cymbal Ride cymbal Maracas Fretless bass Jazz guitar (m7) Jazz guitar (maj7) Jazz guitar (11) Muted trumpet Composed by Rondo for the oldskool music compo at Assembly 2003. Is it August already? Time to dig the ol' Impulse Tracker out of the mothballs, I guess... How lucky for me that there happened to be a jazz festival in my home town a week before Asm, for me that seems to be a surefire way to get an inspiration. What's not so fortunate is that the fruits born by that kind of inspiration tend to be more or less pure jazz, which in turn seems to be a surefire way to kill your chances of achieving even modest success in your average major-party music compo. On the other hand, I did rank twelfth last year with a really weird acoustic guitar duet, so who knows, maybe this year will bring on another surprise. God, I hate working with 8-bit samples! The trumpet ended up sounding more like a bad saxophone most of the time. Maybe I should've learned to use Fast Tracker so I could have made an XM instead of an S3M, but it's too late for that now. Besides, I'm already having trouble trying to squeeze this thing down to 96K, so I'm not sure how much good 16-bit samples and instrument support would do. I could have saved some space in pattern data by not wasting all those loose- end rows with the C00 commands, but I really don't want to give up the luxury of variable-length patterns if I can at least simulate them. This must be the longest song info I've ever written entirely into the sample list. Does anybody ever even read these? Well, if you were patient enough to go through all that junk, you might want to drop me a line or two, so here's my address: ltuovine_tols17.oulu.fi The title, by the way, is due to a Sting song titled Consider Me Gone, which influenced this one rather heavily. Up until that freaky hard bop sequence anyway...

Nice little jazzy tune. It sounds a bit raw, midi-alike - it reminds me of a tune in the Final Fantasy 8 PC version - but all in all, there's not much to complain about.
