Overall Impression (9/10)

The Mortal Combat franchise rocked the video gaming world with the addition of a heart-thumping soundtrack and gruesome graphics.

This variation on the theme is fresh, new, and unexpected. All of the samples you'd expect to find are here, and the song isn't 'old-hat' from the start like many others.

Technique, Arrangement, Composition (9/10)

The overall arrangement of the samples and tracks is top-notch. Most songs get repetitive almost immediately. But not this one! Samples are well-defined. Special effects added to the samples don't overpower them nor do they under accentuate them. The song follows the original quite nicely adding it's own flair to an already popular genre.

Development (10/10)

As far as a melody goes, this one is for sure gonna get stuck in my head! It's well laid out and tracked to perfection! What else can I say?

Creativity (10/10)

The artist definitely used his creativity to the max when tracking this one! It shows in how well everything meshes together as well as compliments each different sample. The artist further shows his creativity and attention to detail by only including samples that would enhance the song, rather than make it confusing and monotonous. Great job!

Enjoyment (10/10)

I'll definitely be playing this one quite a bit. The song is remarkably complex for a game-inspired tune. Everytime I play it, I catch some nuance or technique I didn't hear the first time. This is one song that will go in my 'must-play' category!

Additional Comment

I've heard quite a few Mortal Kombat tunes and this one rises above the rest. Most are just minor variations on the original, boring tune. But this one is by far, an original composition with flair and grace! Now if you'll excuse me, this song makes me wanna go and find my snes emulator and play mortal kombat!
