artist Composed in July of 1996.

I’m not 100% sure of the order I composed the CPDP songs, but this one was near the end, probably the next-to-last one or maybe the last one. As with the 5 other CPDP songs, this one was done because I got credit in my summer computer programming course for them. This means I wrote it hastily, kept it short, and didn’t particularly care how good it was.

In a rare moment of humility, I acknowledged in my original comments that this one wasn’t very good. And it wasn’t. The organ hook and bass line don’t really sound like they are in tune with each other. This may have been the first time I tried to do a little more with the beat loop besides just let it play to completion, but otherwise I don’t really show any signs of development in this song.

The samples primarily came from Equinox by Ratz. Not the first time I’d used them, since the Arcturus Theme Song was built around the same beat loop. The bass was from Echo’s Call by Kalanaras (prominently used in my very first song, Outcast). The ambient sound effect at the beginning might have been from a Skaven song whose title I don’t recall.

I don’t know what I was trying to accomplish by playing the Mr. Burns clip (“It’s working! It’s working!”). It was just a random interlude, I guess, then it goes right back to the main theme. The clip, by the way, is from “Marge Gets a Job,” season 4, episode 7. It has “What’s New Pussycat” by Tom Jones playing in the background, though you wouldn’t be able to tell just from this clip. Oh, and a shotgun being cocked.

The title has no meaning whatsoever and I probably just came up with it randomly.

About CPDP: In the summer of 1996 I was in a computer programming / data processing class, and the teacher let me compose songs in Scream Tracker for class credit. I put together six hastily prepared songs:

CP/DP
Kryptonite Arsenal
Aquatic Jive
Oh! The Suspense!
The Unbrunchables
Willy Universe

They are all short, low-quality, and made quickly so I could get course credit. Look at CP/DP for more context about this series.

The Unbrunchables

by Arcturus

My favorite part of this
song is when you hear Mr.
Burns saying "It's workin
It's working!" I thank
whoever recorded that wav

Well, since this isn't an
extraordinarily good S3M,
I'll just close here.
