I have to disagree with Kruser's assessment, because this song is far from forgettable unless you really dislike it stylistically.

Meanwhile I still remember this song from listening to it in 1997 and 1998 almost more than anything else I found on Aminet.

I appreciate that Kruser pointed some of the best parts of the song, even if Kruser didn't appreciate them. This MOD is *chef's kiss* and a great example of doing more with less to achieve something great.

However this song does have a huge flaw in my opinion that is much more valid than other complaints: as much as I listened to it on loop, it does not loop cleanly because it ends abruptly. Oh wellllllllll, the KLF vocal sample (from the beginning of Last Train to Trancentral) is golden and makes that abrupt end worth listening through to hear 'Okay, everybody lie down on the floor and keep calm," yet again.

Musically, this song is not much in particular. It does have some groove, mostly because of the aggressive distorted bass and the nicely tracked percussion (it reminds of breakbeat a little). The first part of the song is based on the initiall bassline and is quite well composed, in a sense that it is always full of different sound and is not very dull, i.e. has enough variation. The second part of the song is based on that tube-sounding synth line, which does not have much to do with the first part, and the transition is not quite well tracked, i.e. it is reather sudden. The "check-this-out" sample is even used as a lead, but not very successfully. At this point the song gets really repetitive and stays like that till the end. The samples are rather well chosen for this type of music and they certainly serve the purpose to create a groovy and agressive atmosphere. In an oldskool fashion, a sample is played on two channels and on one it fades in and at the other it fades out, to create a panning appearance; the same thing could be accomplished with a Set Panning effect. Of the effects, only the Set Volume is used, although effectively. This song does not have much to offer and can be easily forgotten, though you may consider downloading it if you'd like to remind yourself of a way to track 4-channel MODs.
