This song begins with and maintains an upbeat orchestral style melody throughout. Numerous transitions and the occasional inclusion of other musical styles make this song both untraditional in its musical effect and an excellent song to listen to. This track is a recommended download for those who enjoy this style of music. This track from its professional samples to its musical transitions is the unquestionable work of a professional tracker. This track is additionally an example of how to bring musical styles together successfully. All the samples are of a professional quality and placed to maximize their impact within this track.

                               Borrowed Time
"Ooooh too smooth and funky hiphouse beatnik mix"
                                  by: Azo

Yeah, this track needed a phat remix. It finally got it, and in a style
that I never expected. Welcome to the world of Azo, where the music
writes itself. Basically, I knew this track had to be redone, and I have
had more than a year and a half to contemplate the way to do it. This
track is pretty much a summing up of several different ways I've wanted to
hear it done. The melody is one of my very favorites, so full of spirit
and discord...it opened up a realm where time signatures really meant
nothing. Most of the song is done in 7/8 time, while portions fall back to
4/4. The beauty of the lead line in this piece makes it entirely possible
to change time signatures at any given second without the listener ever
noticing.

Technically, this track was a beast. Writing 4/4 jazz with a deep swing is
hectic on the fingers, just look at the patterns in the 70's for proof.
This track required countles hours of effects work to get it right. I have
to say it came out perfectly, or you wouldn't be hearing it right now.

Anyway, that's all for now...

Hopefully the next release will be the followup to "One Scotch Long"
Look for it in November/December 2000

Greetz to:
Phil Brown (my partner in crime)
LittleElk (my ego-booster)
Soul-H (give him time, he could be the greatest)
Reduz (even though I don't see him anymore)
Novus (who directly inspired this funky remix)
Gary H (who is everywhere I look)
Synthegrate (who proved that trance-heads like other music too)
dead style (for the single greatest PR ever)
Matt (the only guy with a mouth as big as mine)
Bladh (I promise, co-op track is coming soon)
...and one more BIG greet - to everyone who took the half hour out of
their day to hear "One Scotch Long" - I know this one doesn't come close,
but we're working on something...thanks big time for the overwhelming
positive response. You guys made the year we spent on the track worth it.

Until next time,
Jesse (A.K.A. Azo)

"Hey Phil, I've started an ooooh too smooth and funky hiphouse beatnik
remix of "Borrowed Time." It's in 7/8 time with a funk fretless bass line
and a melody that is capable of fitting into any time signature. I don't
think you're man enough to help with it."
                                                Jesse - March 28,2000

"That's alright, I have better things to do...like slaughter these
unsuspecting orcs. Besides, you'll prolly end up making the song sound all
pansy, with like a swing beat or something."
                                                Phil  - March 28,2000

Phil, this pansy swing beat is dedicated to you and yours.
