A slow-paced song, with a bit of a tense mood. Good use of volume slide and ST-01 quality samples. This version is extended from the version used in the Unreal demo, and the extension is done pretty well. Strangely, the panning is significantly better in the original.

That's an extended version of lavender_hill.s3m.

I've always been impressed by the atmosphere going on in this one.

   <1992> - used in the
  Unreal megademo, then
   worked on further.

  My friend told me a
 story about a reporter
 friend of his, who once
 made a trip to London
 and slept in an inn
 located in a place
 called Lavender Hill.

  That night, she closed
 the windows, locked the
 door and went to sleep.
  In the morning, when
 she woke up, the entire
 room was filled with a
 horrendous rotting
 stench, and the door
 to her room was ajar.

  She was shocked, but
 shrugged it off as
 absent-mindedness; that
 she just forgot to
 close the door and
 something was rotting
 in the corridor.

  The following night,
 before she went to
 sleep, she again closed
 windows, and locked the
 door carefully, making
 sure it was latched
 shut from inside.

  In the morning, the
 door was ajar, and
 the air smelled of
 rotting flesh.. as if
 'the devil himself had
 been in the room', like
 she told us.

 Obviously enough, she
 didn't spend another
 night in that house.
