This is a remix of the author's own song, that I have also happened to review. This song compiles the start into a bit better lead melody, though it doesn't sound so good with the start pads. Also the robotic don't sound so good, and there is some awful sounding bass synth rising higher part, that was in the original version too. This song has a bit better sample selection then the original version. The robotic samples could have been well left out. Also the drumming could use some improvement. This is slightly better than the original one, but I wouldn't still loudly recommend this one.

A dance song with some quite bad sounding chip leads. I know that chip can be made well, but in this one the leads are only annoying, and they don't fit quit well either. That's the biggest problem with this song, and it really lacks the interest. That's the whole structure of the tune, and it failed. The background of the chip leads is a simple techno beat with a quite monotonous bass line. The samples are ok, except for the chip lead. I can't recommend this one for anyone, because the whole idea of the song, the chippy leads, went down the drain.

This old mod from '91 starts out sounding pretty cheesy, but it goes in a good direction. The style is very chippy, and infact this song reminds me alot of old game musics from C64 and Atari. The melodies are great, and all the chippy samples work brilliantly together. Some very good stuff. Good use of effects and channels give the song a full use of all the 4 channels that have been possible to use. Sample selection is great, and the songs varifying leads keep the interest all the time. Must download for anyone who wants to be nostalgic or likes chippy songs.

This song is a very peculiar song, and hard to review, because Norg says that this is a practice for background music in some animation. The song has many different parts, some of them don't sound so good and some are fine. The best parts of this song start at after 3 minutes. The song is ok to listen to, but it's hard to describe how it would fit into an animation. Samples are nice. Some lead samples sound too cheesy. Also the transitions from a part to another aren't so smooth. Arrangement is fine, and no bigger technical errors.

A chippy Final Fantasy theme, that sounds very nice, and it can be played looped. The song lasts for under a minute, but you can easily loop it three times, and not get bored. Ofcourse the song itself is not composed by Neoblaze, but he did a good job on transcribing the original game tune. The samples are crappy, but that's the whole point on chip tunes.

The song starts with smooth, scary strings and then a lead melody with untuned sample. This doesn't sound so good, and actually the song gets quite annoying to listen to. The song is under 2 minutes, but that's fine. The song didn't keep my interest for that long. Quality of samples is bad for an XM. Maybe author wanted to keep the size down, or something like that. Some transitions don't work, and sometimes a sample is too loud.

A decent flute melody begins this song, and it's added with a nice piano. The bassdrum comes in quite badly, some more tension to that. And the transition to that was also quite bad. Also when the drumbeat comes in, the piano sample starts to play out of tune. The tune has some variation to it, but it doesn't keep the interest. Samples are quite bad, and transitions aren't smooth. Also there are some tuning errors. The basic idea is ok, but the technical stuff haven't been handled smoothly yet.

A dark and quite nice sounding industrial song. The guitars and the volume sliding strings fit in well. The transition from that part to a part with aggressive bassdrum beat was very bad. Also the song loses all it's interest after listening to it for a while. The beginning was ok, but it went worse in the end. Some very bad transitions, and also the arrangement of the samples is pretty unclear at times. The samples are quite nice, though the volume slide strings go out of tune at some times.

The song starts with some chords and then a very badly tuned lead sample. Also the hihats are too loud and the drumming has some other problems too. The song also repeats itself and get's boring. Well, it doesn't last for more than 1:49. Samples were untuned, transitions didn't work, unclear arrangement of samples. The same stuff as in many other Neoblaze works. Well, the composer just needs to practice, and practice and so on.

The song starts with a pad melody and piano. This is repeated for almost a minute, until the piano melody changes and bass comes in. The breakbeat is a nice idea to the background, you wouldn't have expected it. The melody doesn't vary so much, but the song still doesn't lose all it's interest. The only dull part is the beginning, but it get's better to the end. Samples are good, and they work well with each other. Also the melodies are handled really well. There are no tuning errors. A nice job with this song.

Also the song is kept interesting very well, it doesn't get boring at all. Techniques are ok, samples are brilliant and they work well with each other. Transitions are smooth, and the arrangement is good. Also all the nice melodies are handled well, without untuned samples.

This is an actual transcription of the Prodigy's song, it sounds just like the original version. So if you have this song on a CD or something, or you are searching for a mix that adds something new to the theme, there's no need to download this. It's not so creative artisticly to make a straight remix from a song, and not add any new things to the song. A good example of adding something to a familiar song is the another No Good song (nogood.s3m) that is here at MA. But ofcourse this sounds like the original song. The transition from pattern order A to order B is bad, it just plucks into the next one and sounds very bad. Most of the samples are sampled loops from the original song. The song is fit well into four channels mostly because of this fact.

The song begins nicely with acid bass line and quite good strings. The piano line is pretty good, but it seems a bit plastic, like it's there only to back up the strings, which doesn't seem so good to me, after all, I think it was meant to be some kind of a lead. Otherwise the song is a pretty good one, though there are lot of minor errors, like the strings are left looped pretty ugly when they should end, and snare fills put into odd places. Also some more samples to the drumming would have improved the song. The monotonous thumping bass is nothing very impressive. The samples are pretty average. There were no big technical errors, only those minor string loop things I mentioned earlier. The song works like it is, but with some more work to it, it could be a lot better.

The song starts out with a nice sounding guitar that "screams the way that I really love" like Zepsi describes on the comments. The song is interesting, and absolutely beautiful sounding. I'm not so good describing this kind of music, but it's in something between Awesome and synthpop =) All the leads are great sounding, and they fit in magnificly. A great work. A great job here too. Transitions are smooth and the song is kept well in it's structure. Samples are also of a very good quality. The chord progression is also nice, and there are no untuning or timing errors. A great work, Zepsi! Only minus for the fact that you didn't greet me...Just kidding... ;)

The song starts slowly with a solo guitar, but then moves to aggressive "hard rocking" song. The melodies are quite good, but they sound a bit unclear. Ofcourse, good guitar samples are hard to find out there. I don't listen much to hardrock, but this song still caught my attention. The song is too short to be really something, but it goes fine anyway. Samples are average, and as I said, good guitar samples are quite hard to find. These guitar samples are quite good knowing the usual quality of them. Arrangement is pretty unclear with all the guitar melodies. (Maybe this is the point?) Anyway, if it would have been longer, it would have received a better score.

The song starts with some humorous melodies. There is also one vocal sample that doesn't sound so good. The leads are too cheesy for my taste, only the piano lead is ok. After a while a familiar lead starts to play in. It's "Go West", tune made familiar by Pet Shop Boys. I don't think that it fits in so well, though the melody itself is well played. Maybe this is funny to someone, but I don't really think so. Samples are ok. The vocal sample seems to be done with a microphone because it has some scratching in it. Arrangement is quite good also. Technically it's good, it's not just interesting enough.

A smooth flute melody leads this tune out with a nice piano melody and saw string sounding guitar. A very smooth tune for anyone who loves this kind of style. The song is kept interesting very well, and all the background melodies sooth each other splendidly. No technical flaws and the samples have been selected well. Transitions work smoothly and the tune is in anyway a good example of fine tracking work. Even the ending is fine, and it finishes this great work by this great artist.

The composer is clearly a newbie. The melodie has some ideas in it, but the execution is not so good. The song is also quite repetitive, and it's out of tune at places. Also the lead is not very interesting, and especially the transition from that club synth to a bell kind of synth is quite weak. After a few minutes all of the interest to listen to the song is gone, and the rest is just the same thing. Samples are good. The song itself has some problems in it's techniques. The panning effects are not used quite well, only some weird strings going from speaker to speaker. This is a good rehearsal, not quite anything else.

The song starts out sounding like a real trance killer, but it changes to a piano-based dance song, though not losing it's acid feelings. The piano lead is good and the acids fit in well. The song is very interesting to listen to the end, and doesn't bore you up. A smooth trance song with good piano parts. Good samples, and all made by the authors, this is a great thing that everyone doesn't have to recycle the same old samples over and over ;) Also the techniques are well handled, and no timing errors, tuning errors, or other mistakes of that kind.

The song starts well with a mystical sounding synth and it really takes you away through the beginning. When the tension explodes a cool drumbeat is represented with a nice synth. The song is kept interesting well, and it doesn't lose it's mystic feeling. This song hits me like a stinging bee, just the style that I love and it's brought up very well. The 303 loops add it's own great taste to this one, and the sample selection is elsewhere great too. There are also no out of tune samples or bad transitions. A job well done!

The song has some pop influencens. The song is very sad sounding, but one thing annoyed me in this song. The flute solos. Maybe in some ears thay might sound good, but for me it was too cheesy. Otherwise the song is quite nice sounding. The drumming reminds me of this one-hit-wonder band Fastball's song "The Way". The song is quite short too. It could have been better, now it's just average. Samples were quite nice, like they usually are. Who would pick lousy samples these days? Well, to the point. No errors technically, transitions are smooth and arrangement is good. A fine accomplishment with 8 channels.

A very spacey jarreish tune. All the nice zaps and space strings give this song a cool atmosphere, and also the melodies are nice. The title fits the song brilliantly. The lead comes in quite late, but it reminds so much of Jarre that it impressed me a lot. Clear lead is missed, but this song is brilliant even with out. This songs excellency hides in magnific technics and very good selection of spacey samples. The complicated melodies are handled like a true pro, and this song is like sweet honey. Strongly recommended for everyone who likes Jarre or Vangelis or something like that. Pick this one up with you.

A nice peaceful song with nice background piano and jazzy lead sample. The breakbeat sample has a scratchy part in it, but it fits the feeling and gives the song a certain "lo-fi" feeling. Owerall a peaceful nice song that has much to give with it's nice background samples and good melodies. Good arrangement and transitions work smoothly. Samples sound comfortable, and fit well in with each other. This is a nice work, and the style is not so common in modscene either.

The song starts with badly looped strings and an offbeat drumbeat. This for a while, and then a bad transition to weird drumming. This seems like a song by a tracker who has tracked for a while, but is still looking for the touch of it. After a while a very good sounding synth solo comes in and the song starts to actually sound something you could listen to. Although the background samples don't quite suit with the lead melody. Then again a bad transition to a weird acid melody. This song is not a full, solid structure. It has pieces all over it. As I said, transitions are quite bad, and some of the technics are handled poorly. The volume changing strings click badly, and the drumbeat is a bit offbeat. Also the song is quite repetitive, and the fade in the end is also one good example of how not to do a fade. The song has some ideas in it, but it's not complete.

A sad sounding piano begins this song with nice strings backing it up. Sadly this theme is repeated for too long, and though it sounds nice at first, it starts to get you slightly bored. Luckily some key changes have been made to keep the interest. Overall it's a nice relaxing piano tune. Now that I've reviewed three of this guys tracks on a row, Nitzer has shown that he can do great stuff with many styles. That's a very good thing, because for example me myself have been sticking only to dance music, because I don't think that I'm so good at the other styles. Technically this song is very good. Sample selection is great, they all work wery well with each other. I have to say that this song really demands something, as it takes all 32 channels at the same time, and my Modplug didn't follow all the times :)

This song reminds me a lot of Jean Michel Jarres songs, with it's drumming and synth pads. Good leads and complicated background synths fit in well to the style of the song as does the soft guitar that comes in later. This is a really smooth poppy song with nice chord progressions. Nitzer has risen to be a very good tracker, and this keeps up his fine new work. Transitions are smooth, chord progression rocks, the song is not too repetitive and the samples are great. Again one thing to complain is the ending, fade is not so good.

Last time I reviewed a song by this composer, it was pretty bad, but now this guy has really done some progress and creates a nice dance song with very good and smooth flute leads and keeps the song very interesting. If the guy keeps on this progress, TSEC and other dance composers should watch their back, because this competes in the top classes. Interesting and smoothly changing dance song - there's a thing that is not seen too often. This song really surprised me. Very good transitions and nice samples. This track is a very repetitive one. I haven't heard any of these Depeche Mode songs included on the megamix, but they don't sound so good to me. The song just doesn't sound very interesting, it's repetitive and bad sounding. Also the song starts to "lag" at moments. The very end of this song really crowns the boredom, and all in all this song is too long. Maybe for someone Depeche Mode fan this would sound nice, but I don't like it. Some samples are untuned, and some of the transitions don't work at all. And the samples are overall bad, but ofcourse this is a .MOD file. Also when you a have a mod file, you shouldn't change one samples channels, because one channel is automatically panned to left and other right, and in here a snare is first played on the right speaker and when it suddenly moves to left it sounds quite bad.

A smooth drum beat and dreamy sounds backing it up start this tune, and a nice speech sample is also within, but the biggest problem is the bad sounding and too much echoed lead synth. It really starts to annoy you, and that sample is repeated over and over. The song is very repetitive, and it's dreamy level goes down always when that annoying lead sample comes in. Other samples are pretty good. This song reminds me a lot of "Hallucinations" which is also found at Modarchive. If you are looking for a dreamy mod, maybe try that one first.

Jungle flutes synchronize well with the great leads that this song has. After a while the song gets pretty messed up, but the leads save this song totally. At near three minutes a very weird spacey zapping sample is added which doesn't sound so good. At 4 minutes the song get's again new life with a very nice guitar melody and nice backing melodies added with a dance drum beat. This is the best part of the song, and really worth listening to, though the drumloop seems to be timed a bit badly. Overall this song has some very good parts, then some weird parts, but it's a very unique sounding song. Samples are quite bad for an S3M. Transitions are smooth and samples are well in balance, though I found some clicking and bad looping. The very creative leads save this song and this one is really nice one, if you just ignore all the weird parts, they'll go away pretty fast.

This is the first song I've heard ever by Nightbeat, though I've heard that he is a great tracker, but this song really got me. No flaws, excellent transitions, magnificent samples. I don't really like this one as much as some of his work, the chord progression doesn't sound so good to me, and the lead guitar (that reminds me a bit of a song by a band called ATB) doesn't sound smooth at all, with it's weird twists. Also these are all the elements repeated in this song. It's not a bad club song, but it's not even near the level this guy can do at his best. Technics are all good, it's the other point that counts here. Samples are very good, and it's nice to hear that some of the samples are made by the author himself. Not seen a lot of guitars as a lead sample in these kind of tunes. Quite a creative solution. Samples were average and all 8-bit. A little improvement on them would have been nice. Well, this one lasts for two and half minutes, but it sounds at 1:25 that it would start straight from the beginning. Not still a bad tune, a very happy and refreshing sound to it, atleast it's quite creative. The leads are nice and the bass line matches up well. Samples fit well together and have a decent quality. Only for the name, I expected that this song might be ambient or goa. And ambient it is, not in it's smoothest way, but with a mild drumbeat. It has some very nice trancey beeps and distorted strings. The word "mantra" brings relaxation to my mind, and that is what this song is all about, relaxing. The beats are very relaxing, though a bit repetitive, but still somewhat interesting to listen to. I personaly wouldn't listen to this for many times, but it's nice for a while. Samples are average quality. The song has now flaws in tuning or anything and effects have been used quite nicely to make the song more trancey. The song starts out nicely with dark synths and some jungle styled snare (I mean jungle as in jungle, not as drum'n bass...) Sadly this sceme is repeated for too long, and when it changes, the only change is a drum beat into it. As trance and relaxation, or for background music, this song might work, but otherwise it's quite dull with it's repetition. At 5 minutes the chord progression changes and brings some life to the song, but doesn't cheer things up so much. Ofcourse, no points for actually repeating the same thing over and over, but otherwise the song is made quite well. The strings have been cut quite annoyingly, I guess it was meant to be like that, but it doesn't sound quite good. Samples are ok.

The song starts with moaning-like strings which click too much, and then basic hip-hop style drumming comes in, which has been heard too much nowadays. The beginning of the song is more techno like then the two first ones, only mantra-element are the moaning strins. After the song gets further, it doesn't sound so bad anymore, before you notice the lack of variation, and repetition has a new victim, this song. The tune rests down a bit later with some slow drumming and strings with it, but then this scheme is repeated and repeated and repeated. The song is quite basical techno, not so bad, but not so good either. Some clitches in the samples, though the breakbeat sample was very cool. Otherwise the mantra series would hold some good tunes, but they should change more, because they are very repetitive, and to tell the truth - dull.

The song starts with a haunting bass and a rattle snake sample, and then it's added with a electrig sound, and finally a drum beat. The procedure is pretty simple. Just play a melody, then add something to it, then play a pattern, then add something to it, and then the same thing over and over. The first two sentences almost described the whole song, so you can understand why I tell you this song is repetitive. Ofcourse for trance lovers this could be a good selection, but I just would like some melody to a song that I listen to, and some variation wouldn't be a bad thing either. Samples are average. The rattle snake style of screech is a pretty nice one. I think I'll rip it for my tunes ;) ...Anyway, the songs biggest problem is repetition, just like in the other mantras that I have reviewed.

Some breakbeat hopping in the beginning with a weird and annoying sounding chord progression of strings. After 4 minutes of this, with slight breaks in the beat, a flute comes in playing a melody to match the strings. Not much else happening in this one. This goes out with all the songs of this mantra series. Maybe it's not so good to do tunes by a certain theme, there is always a problem that they sound too same. Here the combining thing with other mantra songs is the repetition. There is just too much of it. The strings chords aren't so good sounding, and that is actually the only melody playing on in the song, not to mention the flute that goes on the same progression, and it doesn't sound so good either.

Starts with orchestral hits and a shamen yelling some of his mantras or something. From the beginning the song sounds much more promising then the other mantra tunes so far, with many melodies going on, instead of just one bass line or string progression. A shame that the breakbeat doesn't quite fit to the song, the melodies are quite good in this one. The song goes still on quite smoothly, and is more interesting to listen, then some of the mantras before. So far this and the 1st mantra are the best sounding of the series. Ofcourse this one has it's share of repetition too, but still it's richness of sounds and melodies is quite nice to listen to. A trancey song that hits slightly above the average mark. I've said it in some other mantra song review, this song (like almost all of the series tunes) would fit well for background listening, but for real listening and enjoying people might want to look some more.
