Musically the song is very poor. A minute of some special fx and then a drum beat with the same strings on and on... And the ending is very bad and too sudden. This song is definetly not worth a download due to it's huge size. Only for sample rippers with ISDN ;) Only good thing here is the hi quality of the samples. All 16-bit, and there are many of them. That shows in the size and when the song is actually just a drumbeat with boring strings, the technical review can't be very good. No musical errors, except the biggest possible one in this kind of music... Where is the lead melody? The hihat's, claps and other samples that would have made this song more varied and enjoyable?

A very old mod from 1991. Firm synthpop with electronic piano. A smooth and melodic piece this one. Not so much to complain, the song isn't repetitive, it keeps going interesting all the time and it has good melodies. If you are an oldies fan, get this, and get it anyway... Again a great song in only 4-channels, and the samples aren't so bad either to think that this is a very old mod. It seems to me like all mods from the early '90s are good (atleast what I've heard) because at that time tracking wasn't so usual and only good trackers got into it. And anyway, who would upload an lousy old mod at MA? ;)

A nice rock tune here, but it doesn't conquer the problem that is the most common in rock mods. You can hear that it is made with a computer. Well, it's still a good rock tune, and it deserves a download with it's nice piano riffs between the aggressive rocking. Samples are very good and clear. The song is very melodic and nice to listen to. A definite download for anyone who has got bored with the massive dance/techno-offering of tracked music.

A pretty cool demo song here with cool melodies. The song has only 15 different patterns from 48, but it doesn't still sound too repetitive. Wonder how Gizmo did create this illusion? ;) Very detailed made, as the best demo songs usually are. The samples are pretty chip-stylish, but they work fine here. Only thing that needed improvement was the lead guitar, which sounded too noisy. Otherwise the samples are fine for a .MOD from '95.

At first this song starts with the basic hardcore drumming, but after a while it gets some life to it with great ambient-like strings. When the strings come in, they also make the acid line sound good. Also the part where the strings are again alone and the slowed breakbeat comes in is great. The song is still pretty repetitive, because the composer has just using the ambient strings and not much more instruments for variation. The bassdrum sample seemed to be a bit scratchy, but otherwise the drum samples were pretty good, but the ambient-strings save the whole song from total disaster. This is one of the better hardcore songs that I've ever heard.

Again Sunny presents some ambient. It's just too bad that this definetly isn't my style, because I like more some rythm based music, so I just find this song too boring with only some synths and quite speaking in the background. This song reminds me of all those weird videos that I've seen in M2 from satellite. The samples are mostly strings and quiet vocals. Maybe some of you ambient-lovers want to flow away with this piece of music, but this is just not for my taste. I'm not saying that Sunny isn't a skilled tracker, I just don't like his music (atleast the songs that I've heard).

The song starts out pretty nicely with a nice synth lead, though the sample used was pretty weird. After that it starts to play some melodies that seem like they were just squeezed in with force to make the song sound more varifying, and they sound pretty bad. The samples are bad, and only thing that makes this song sound even something worth listening to, is the first lead sample which is very cool sounding. The song also drops up too shortly, only after 2:30 minutes.

Written for a girlfriend who was sleeping the time the song was composed and her name was Nina, so the song name is pretty obvious. This is a nice pop style tune with good melodies. The song doesn't sound like it was made in ยด94 like it has been, and that surprised me. The song has much variation and it doesn't get too boring, it just brings you good melodies after another. Too bad this isn't just the music style that I usually like to listen. Good samples for a mod. Again a great tune made in 4 channels, how could they do it? It's the great technics and effects that Gizmo uses that make it sound so fresh, which has been a problem for some older mods that I've reviewed here.

Again a Nine Inch Nail-remake. Never heard the original and if it's the same as this, I haven't missed a lot. Ofcourse the song has some nice strings, but it's way too dull for me. Also the beat looping within the song is pretty awful sounding. There are only few samples, so you can guess how boring this one was. The strings sounded nice, and you could listen to them for a while, but the drum samples were bad, very noisy. The song is very repetitive, there are the same strings playing around and around with some instruments changing, so it means a lot of copy/paste has been done here. Also the song quits quite suddenly. The samples were the melody here because there was one string sample that played the whole string melody, so nothing very artistic here.

A dance tune with a very common key in it, and it's heard so many times that it hurts the originality of the song. Otherwise this is a pretty ok dance song, it just seems like unfinished because it's not even 2 minutes long. All the basics in the dance music under control (drum beat, base line etc.). Only the lead sample is out of tune and it makes the song pretty awful to listen to, and in the end of the song the lead stops too suddenly.

A nifty pop tune, a very usual style in these old mods. A great bassline, working drum beat and nice pad leads. Some japanese style synth melodies in the song, which propably causes the name. This is a pretty average pop mod. Sometimes the song sounds kind of same as the music in the 3d shooting and killing game "Shadow Warrior". Well, the samples. Bass guitar is surprisingly good for a .MOD, but the drums are pretty bad. Also the orchestral hit sounded pretty weird and didn't fit to the song at all.The japanese synths give the song a nice originality and the song is pretty nice sounding, but I couldn't listen to it many times...

I guess this is a Nine Inch Nails megamix, I'm not sure because I haven't listened so much of them. Anyway the song is mostly just drumloops and some bad melody with them. In the beginning the song sounds good for a while, but then it just starts to repeat different drumloops, and the length that is over 12 minutes is way too much here. Naturally in .S3M, all samples were 8-bit. They were also very bad, and some of the drumloops were off beat sometimes. Also the song is so boring that this song is very hard to listen to the end. Maybe if you're a big fan of NIN, you might download this, but I won't recommend it.

The song had too much of samples with women screaming "aah", it started to annoy me. Also the drums seemed off beat, but Bedlamite says that it will fix if you listen to them in ST3.

For NIN fans this might be a good download, it sounds quite real with vocals. The song is otherwise made pretty well, but the drums seem a bit off beat sometimes, and the ending is pretty weird. Again a remix from NIN song. This one is actually pretty good, better than the other NIN remixes I reviewed. This time the guitars are good and not too heavy for me, and the beat is well under control here. The drums seem off beat here like in other Bedlamite's NIN songs that I've reviewed. Maybe it just faults in Modplug and CP2. Composer said in one of his NIN remixes that you should listen the songs with ST3 if the off-beating disturbs you.

This is a song originally made by Members Of Mayday. Sounds pretty much like the original. I never liked the original so much, but this song kicks! A good bass beating itself and the bass synth line helping the main melody to make you dance wildly. Ofcourse it's pretty repetitive, but that's kind of usual in these club tunes, and it still sounds good. Samples are of good quality. Solution NGS has done the convertion very well, and made the song sound even better than the original (at least I think so). No technical errors, NGS must be a pretty experienced tracker.

The original one is one of my favourite tunes ever by RMB. Ofcourse this song isn't as good as the original, but NGS has still managed to make a good convertion here. The song is pretty repetitive and missed some variation. The strings are great backing up the awesome lead. If you haven't ever heard of RMB and you like trancey dance music, give this a shot and then buy the record ;) Samples are quite good quality, only few 8-bit. No special effects, atleast I don't hear any, except the volume changes on the strings in middle of the song are absolutely fantastic. Maybe too much repetition, but the song is still pretty awesome. RMB rules!! :)

Remix of the great song "Insomnia" by Faithless. It's pretty much just a simple version of the original one, without the vocals. The song is pretty repetitive and the song is almost all about the lead melody. Ofcourse this is one of the best remixes of the song that I heard. (btw, the best remix of this song is Insomnia'98 by Dj Unique) The samples are pretty average. They are all 8-bit. The song could have been made more complex, more like the part that starts in 1:14 where the synth is effected with sample offset which was very cool. Otherwise it's just typical dance beat with the main melody. A bass line would have been already a great improvement.

This is the same style of dance music that I compose, so this is just my taste of dance music. The synths are great and the beat is perfect. The part were the synths break for a while and the strings come in, and then the synths rise again, is just awesome! And then the song gets some acids and a different drum beat. For a club fan, this is a must download! Great job by NGS. The song manages to keep away the monster of all trackers, repetition. Only thing that bothers me is the "dream" sample that is repeated too much. Otherwise NGS has again shown his skills of tracking great dance music. Samples are very good quality, about 50-50 with 8-bit and 16-bit samples.

A mod-convertion of the legendary Nirvana song "Smells Like Teen Spirit". It goes pretty well imitating the original one, until the legendary guitar riff takes place, where the composer of the mod messes up the lead guitar. Then the song just starts to play looped. Propably the worst version of the song that I've heard. (Actually I only have heard another version by Broman/Stimulus which was in a very different class...) Samples were bad, but that's not a big surprise knowing that this is an old 4-chn .MOD from propably early 90's. The song is also too short and it kind of just stops suddenly when listening in ModPlug, and in CP2 it started to play looped. Kurt Cobain would turn in his grave if he would hear this, with all due respect.

Here is again a dance/club style song with a too rough and loud lead synth. But this is still one of the better songs by Dj Nitrogen that I've reviewed here. The song gets too repetitive but the synth theme varies nicely. The lead synth was pretty bad, and the background beeping only made you mad while listening. Dj Nitrogen says that he spent 2 hours with this song. Well, in my opinion he should have spent a lot more time, and varify the song a bit more, and finding better samples.

This is musically one of the best ones by Dj Nitrogen that I've heard so far, with a nice synth and even an intro. Here Dj Nitrogen doesn't even repeat the patterns too much, but there is still a slight taste of repetition. Dj Nitrogen has a bad habit of using the same samples in his song, for example the space synth and the alert sound were already in some other of his tunes. This song isn't repeated so much as other songs by him that I've reviewed, but still it would have needed a bass line and more complex drumming. The drum samples were pretty poor.

For an exception from some Dj Nitrogen songs, this song actually has a melody and a snare with the bassdrum. But the repetition strikes here too with only 6 different patters from 22 used. This is just boring. Samples were good, except the "Make some noise"-scream which was awful and overused in the song. Repetition ruined again a song. Dj Nitrogen should have used a lead synth here with the bass line and more breaks in the beat and maybe some key changes. That's all I can say.

Like Novus says in his Wide World Of Mods, you shouldn't have a pattern repeated more than twice in the whole song. Dj Nitrogen would have something to learn from that, because this song is just bassdrum repetition with a spacey string. Nothing quite musical here. Repetition is the beast of trackers, that strikes when there is no real inspiration left. "Hmmm, I'll just repeat the same thing again and finish this track and go to sleep." (Was that again a quote from Novus? Don't remember anymore...) Sounds familiar? There is no other cure to this thing to just keep your head cool and if there are no ideas, do something else and leave the song alone, and when you have again ideas, return to your computer and continue the song... Oh yes, the technical review... :) Samples are ok, but the drumming is too familiar from so many tunes, a snare or a clap would have done already miracles in this song. Repetition is a beast here too.

A club tune again with a dynamic bass and some acids. At the beginning the song sounded the same as nitro9.xm (Ice cold). This song is very repetitive, but somehow it makes you want to dance. That's the magic of house music. :) Not musically anything special, the feeling is more important here. This is a very repetitive song. Dj Nitrogen should make his tracks more complicated, if you get what I mean, and more variation. It seems like composer hasn't been tracking for a long time, but he just should keep on tracking and listen to comments of his songs and try to learn from mistakes. Bonus points here for a good dance feeling :)

Very repetitive house track here, imagine, 41 patterns and 7 different. You can see how repetitive this is. Also the melody that is played by two different instruments isn't so good, but that's mostly because of the low quality of these lead samples. Too much repetition! And the synth samples were pretty bad. The track's based on a simple track; it repeats a pattern for a while and then moves to next pattern and repeats it and again and again. It's ofcourse the easy way to track, but you don't get too many fans with this style.

A very weird name with the song, but The B explained that he had no name for the song and they were working with an opera called "Nixon In China" at school and so he ended up choosing that name... Well, at least it's pretty original. The song itself is very good melodic dance with great piano riffs, nice acids in the background and an effective beat. The long length makes you bored, when the song get's too repetitive. Great samples and excellent work with the melodies and background acids. The song goes on for 7 minutes, and that is just too much. Listening to it for 3-4 minutes is enough, because after that you get pretty bored with the repetition of the same piano melodies. But you don't have to listen it to end, ofcourse. But if you want to dance long, this is a good song to do that. Would be a success in clubs, I think...

Nothing new for N-Joy's composing style, again we have a dance song. This one's pretty good, it has a good string melody leading it and it has good drumming spiced with little kettle drumming. The song is very short and it lasts only for 2:10. If it would have been made longer it would have been a good experience, but the short length just lets you down. Good samples and good melody with a great beat, everything under control here, but the short duration makes the song just another dance song with the masses. Good ideas and great kettle style drumming goes all to a waste here. Maybe someone should remix this song and make it the next big hit in tracked songs ;)

A pretty nice dance tune here. The piano melody is great, except for the piano at the middle, before the beginning melody strikes back again. N-Joy could have used more of the piano to make the song sound better. The lead synth is pretty dark sounding for a love song, but it's ok. The ending is pretty weird. Nothing unusual here, the typical N-Joy sample quality. No errors in the beat. Drumming is pretty cool here, and the melody is good. It get's a bit repetitive at some times. If there would have been more piano, the song could have been a lot better.

The drumming is great in the whole song with some nice tom's. At the end the song when it drops the tempo to half of the beginning tempo, it sounds a bit boring. Samples are overall good quality. The vocal is a bit overused. As I said, the tom drumming is cool and it's one of the important things in the song. Funny to see that N-Joy has taken the monsterbass sample, which I have seen in some old 4-channel mods. Usually it is a bad choice to rip old mods, but here it doesn't harm the song.

At almost three minutes it starts to make some excitement and the ending is pretty good. The main melody is repeated a lot, but not too much, for my taste at least. Samples are mostly 8-bit. Dance with very rough guitars. The guitar melody is too fast in the beginning and it sounds awful all the time. N-Joy should have used some synths with the guitars. This is below average dance song. The "aaah choirs" give the song a nice touch and make it sound more professional and more interesting. Nothing special in this song overall, just another dance song. Almost all samples are 8-bit, a few 16-bit samples. The song is technically made very well, no big errors, except the lead synth goes in one melody off tune. This song is above the average dance songs, with it's energic use of synths. The song felt pretty short, but it was varied well. No untuned samples or anything, but the bassdrum sounded a bit weird in the beginning, because it was tuned so low, but you get used to it during the song. The song is just the Lambada song with a dance beat and some synths added. For you people who danced Lambada when it was on top, this is very recommended, at least it brings back melodies. The Lambada-melody is fitted well in the dance beat. Some of the samples were pretty bad, like the flutes. The vocal samples in beginning are echoed very strangely. The song starts to get pretty cheesy after while that you have listened to it, with the flute sample making the solo. But it was a pretty funny idea to make a dance remix of this song.

There is a lot of variation because this is somekind of a megamix, but the melodies are pretty dull. There were many vocals in the song, some of them could have been left out of the song. It's almost the same as original version, nothing big added to it, just some beeps in the beginning, which didn't sound so good. Ofcourse this song is good, but if you actually want a No Good - remix, I'd recommend you nogood.s3m, unless you collect them ;) The samples are tuned and pretty good, but the originality points in this song are pretty low. This is propably one of the most remixed songs (like all Robert Miles tunes) in the tracking scene, and if this isn't the best version, why take this when there are more original and better versions of the song.
