This is again somekind of a song that tries to be funny, but it isn't. There is just a drum beat and then very noisy speech samples say something like "did you leave your brains home?" or something like that. The speech samples had terrible noisy scratches, and it made me want to just quit the listening to the song. And this song is musically and technically very poor, so don't download it. It's for your own sake.

This song starts out really good, with cool acids and a nice piano lead melody. But then I realise that they are repeating themselfs for the next three minutes. If composer could have made more variation and more samples to this one, it could have been a lot better. The drumming could have been a lot better, and all the samples were very common. No special panning or effects here.

This is a remix of Nostalgia by Youthanasia. The strong starts with some ambient like strings and then it starts to play a breakbeat with these strings and a bass line. That's about it for this song. It's pretty repetitive, but I have to say that it fits great for relaxing or just for background. The drum samples are surprisingly good for a mod that's made in '93. The string arrangements are good, but they should vary a bit more. I haven't heard the original one, so I don't know if this is more like a copy of it or a independent song with some influences.

Ok, I start to listen to this song. First some bleeps, and then some so high beeps that I first thought that my mobile was ringing. And you know how awful those mobile ring voices are. Yes, this is much the same. I don't usually like chip tunes, though there are exceptions, and this is definetly one of those chip tunes that I dislike. Those portamento effects on the lead got me almost crazy, and the samples were, like in a chip tune always, very bad. The composers say that this is dedicated to all who had/has an Amiga. I'm not one of those lucky(?) ones, so I can't realise the message of the song.

This tune has some very good and exciting arrangements, but it lacks a solid lead part that would have made the song better. It still is a good trance song, but it gets a bit boring, at least for my taste after you listen to it a while. Very good samples, but you can see the size of the song. It's 4 megs unpacked, and I almost lost my nerves downloading it with my 28,8 modem. The speech samples could have been easily left away, because they weren't so important to the song, and the song would have been much smaller. But hey, if you have ISDN, you must be laughing at me and downloading the song just for the size of it ;)

This song has wonderful melodies and a good beat, which is not a surprise, because Skaven is one of the greatest trackers around. But this is still not Skaven's best song. There is one thing that annoyed me a lot, which was the break of all samples for one pattern, and then again back to the song. Well, this would have worked once or twice, but the same thing is done over and over, and the song doesn't sound so good, when it breaks all the time. The samples were average quality. This song is made with care and you can see it from the great effects, and all that. Only thing that bothered me was that break, which I explained already.

A convertion to mod of a Metallica song "Nothing Else Matters". It is a pretty good song, though not Metallica's best ones. The convertion is made pretty well, but the guitar samples weren't so good. Yes, the guitar samples weren't so good for this tune, but they were made by composer himself. Hooray!! Rest of the samles weren't so good. Otherwise, a pretty good convertion so download this if you like Metallica.

Ok, don't expect much from a song that only lasts for 30 seconds. It's just some speech samples that are speeded so that you can't find out what they are saying, horrible laugh samples and a dull drum beat with a bass guitar. This is not worth a download. Remember, I warned you ;) Samples weren't so good and the speech samples didn't fit to the song, maybe they were just put there for fun and/or variation. Not much to say from a 30 second song, anyway...

There were some good ideas for the leads, but it wasn't such a good solution to end the patterns always at place 30 (FT2 language again...) in this song. (For example, in a song that I reviewed a while ago called "Cold Breeze On November 1st" did the same thing but there it was a good solution, and didn't harm the song, just made it better). This mod is propably one of Joachims first songs, at least it sounded a lot like my first tunes, actually. He just has to watch carefully other peoples mods and learn from them, and read "Zen of Tracking" or some other tracking tutors, and we might have a new great composer here. I already told about the patterns odd breaks. Ofcourse I believe that every great composers first songs weren't technically great or anything... Joachim just has to believe in himself and keep tracking. And someday a new Purple Motion is born... ;)

This is a fantastic Prodigy-like tune with a very professional sound to it. It starts out pretty weird, and the speech sample doesn't really fit to it. The biggest flaw here is the short duration of the song. The wonderful breakbeats and rythms last only for 2:30. More length to the song and this would be perfect. Very good samples overall, some of the robotic sounds were a bit noisy, but they were propably ment to be like that. The lead melody with the robotic bleeps were awesome and kind of hypnotic. This is a must download for every Prodigy fan.

This song is just great!! It really blew me from my chair when I listened to it. Beautiful piano melodies and great bassline. This is a masterpiece, which should be on everyones hard drive. The only minus is the start, when the piano sounds pretty weird in some parts, but it's not too big thing. Zirconia changes the tempo of the song very often within the song, and it still manages to keep the good beat and rythm. The samples are top notch, and everythings just great! Truly a masterpiece.

This song has some good melodies and ideas, but some of the samples were pretty awful. The song was also too repetitive. You know, once I downloaded this song thinking that this was Purple Motion's Nova, but I was pretty disappointed when it appeared to be just a mediocre song. Yes, back to the samples. The hihat sample was too loud, and the lead sample was too chip. Also the part were the song stops suddenly, and continues for a while, doesn't fit to the song at all. And have you noticed that so many mods nowadays end to a fade?

This song has some cool acid parts, but when the acids start to play higher, they don't sound so cool anymore. And at almost 3:00 there starts to play some weird samples, which don't fit the tune at all. Samples are pretty good, but they don't go in tune with each other. Sometimes the key of the song jumps pretty suddenly to a weird key and that hurted my ears.

When the song starts the string arrangements almost hypnotize you and after listening to the song for over a minute, it really get's going, and it's just great! The song used to have lyrics, according to Liam, and ofcourse the song misses something without them, but who would want to download forever a song with some 28.8 modems. The song has surprisingly good samples to think that it's pretty old. They are all very clean, except for the bleep sample, which is a bit unclear and noisy. This is a good melodic tune composed very well.

These kind of songs are the songs that I'm not happy to hear. I'll give you some reasons why; There is too much repetition, a very bad and unclear vocal sample and the lead melody doesn't even go with the beat!! You could go crazy listening to these tunes all day... If you read the musical review, and you still want to read ahead and maybe download the tune, just go ahead. Then you will atleast see how a lead melody should not be placed. This isn't good enough for sample ripping.

To be true, I really don't understand this kind of music. First there is lots of screaming and then samples start to play melodies that don't fit to each other. This song is pretty weak. Samples were pretty good, but it doesn't help much here. If the instruments play out of tune that already ruins a lot of the feeling in the song.

This song starts pretty slow, but in some time it get's you going and relaxes you, but then it stops. Yes, it's only a little over minute long, and that's the worst thing in this song. But this is a good tranquilizer, like Alpha says, but it could have been made a more long-lasting. The samples are pretty good for a 4-chn MOD. The song just could have been more longer. This is a very old song, which you can notice from the complainment of the huge size of this song (over 300 kB, imagine!!):)

I started to listen to this song, and BAM! I was hooked. It starts so energic and good, that many trackers would have a lot to learn from "N.S. Beat". This is a great song to listen and the only problem are the low-quality samples, because this is such an old song. Yeah, the samples are what they are, but do you know what I have always envied about these great 4-chn tracks? Well, it's the skill the trackers to get the whole song to just 4 channels!! Impressing.

Heh, here is a funny one. A remix from "Neiti Groove" by a Finnish dance act "Aikakone", which are pretty famous in Finland but nobodies elsewhere... Ofcourse this is musically very good, because this is just made from a commercially succesful tune. Ofcourse it misses something without vocals, but you who haven't heard this in the radio for a thousand times like we Finnish, get it and be happy! ;) Technically good, sounds just like the original one. One thing did annoy me, and it was the strings. They didn't fit to the song at all. Otherwise good samples and overall this song gave me a good feeling.

Some synthic dancepop here. I've heard some newer tunes from CaesaR, and I have to say that I like them more than this. This is very well put together and all, but the lead sample was too cheesy for me. The song is very exciting and changing, so you don't get bored with it. Effects used here a lot! Maybe too much, especially for the vibrato which made "already-a-cheesy-lead-sample" into a "even-more-cheesier-lead" There was one funny thing on third pattern which I had never even thought of. Using pattern jumps and pattern breaks the pattern actually goes backwards, and it was funny looking in FT2.

This song has a simple but good lead tune, and I liked it, but it was way too repetitive. The song was still pretty nice until after 2 minutes there came a "hcpiano" melody what didn't fit to the song at all. Also the annoying closed and opened hats are played the same way from the beginning of the song to the end. Samples weren't so good. There was some panning in the instruments which was a good thing. All in all, this is a pretty mediocre rave tune. Well, it's not actual rave more of like some harder dance tunes.

Actually this song is below Ok, but that's the lowest grade you can get. I'm sorry if I'm too straight with my words, but this song just isn't good for anything. It has only one melody, rest of the time it is just beatloop with some untuned samples here and there. And it's far too repetitive and did I already mention that it's too short too... or too short for a song, but long enough of music of this type... The samples are untuned and because this is a .MOD, you can't wait for any hi-fi 16-bit samples. The samples are average, but the way that they are used is below them. Sorry, but that's the truth...

I can't really realise what's been the point of this song. Piano chords played here and there for a minute and then it fades away to make room to some atmospheric wind samples. Maybe the composer tried to make a beautiful song by making first some piano tunes and then relaxing the listener with those nature samples, but it didn't hit me at all. There is only piano samples and those nature samples. A bit more variation and different samples, and I might listen this song happier. Well, atleast the pianos go in tune...

I don't know if "Nuke" is the name of the song or the composer, but if it's the composer, don't mix him to me... This is not my tune, though I hope that it would be. This tune has great recorded sampleloops so it's only 4-channels, but it still takes only 300 Kb of your HD space. This piece really is a treat for your ears, and I recommend it to anyone. Samples are great, and this is propably the best sounding 4-channel tune that I've ever heard. And the samples are (I think so) made by the composer himself, which is always a plus in reviews.

Here we have a dance song with too repetitive piano melodies and an overused vocal. Sounds familiar, eh? That's pretty much all that I can musically say about this song, the truth is that I got bored pretty soon with this song. The tune is technically very good, no out-tuned samples. The piano comes in too loud after the first break. The piano would have to be more melodic, and not just pings and pongs that go with the rhythm.

After TSEC (now Lagoona) broke through the scene, the most usual songs that are tracked are these TSEC-stylish dancesongs with lots of piano and beatloops. Nothing wrong with that, atleast because I like what TSEC did, but this has maybe gone too far. The piano is pretty nice in this one, but the background guitar melody (which is very familiar of many Andreas/TSEC:s songs) just doesn't fit with the rest of the song. This song is pretty energic and that's a good thing. Samples are of a good quality and they don't go out of tune, except for that background guitar. This song is a decent dance tune, but why take this when you already have TSEC? Ofcourse if you love this music, why not this one? It definetly isn't the worst out there...

Oh boy, just when I started to listen to this song, it sounded pretty much like Zetas "Magic Dreams", which I have reviewed. This can be a problem to the composer, if all the songs sound just like the same. This is typical dance music in Lagoona/TSEC style, with much repetition and a piano melody that doesn't really fit to my ears... I liked the string sample what came in from almost the start, and all the samples were ok. But one thing that this guy should think, is that if he keeps making this kind of music forever and forever, who will listen to it anymore.

A good dance tune that reminds me bit of the style of PM/FC:s legendary song "Unreal II" (which is a hell of a song). The bassline is great and the lead sample rocks too, especially before the ending, when it starts to play a different melody than usually. Only thing you could complain is that the drumming could have been a bit better, but it's pretty good still. You can see that this song has been written with care. The pannings, using of the effects and echoing the leads are like straight from "The Zen Of Tracking" or something like that, and it won't be hard to guess that this guy's been tracking for some while... There are also lots of cool samples, for example vocals (ie. screams) from "Mortal Kombat".

So, here we have a very repetitive rave tune. The piano melodies are pretty good, but they are being repeated very long. And the flute sample that whistled through the song makes me feel sick even when I think of it... Also the ending is pretty awful, with a breakbeat that isn't in beat and bassdrums here and there...Well, it seems like Ryan didn't have too much ideas for the end. I already complained about the flute sample and the breakbeats, and the other samples were also mediocre. And the panning was too rough... If there was panning, they were always in the edge. Composer could have panned the samples more to middle (you know, 860 or 8B0 instead of 800 and 8FF in FT2 language), and some of the samples were out of tune.

The instruments were sometimes pretty weird. Nowadays every tracker can (or atleast should) select good samples to their tunes. So does Nazcar. BTW, I think that if you rip samples, you must greet the persons who have worked hard to sample them, and not do like Nazcar has done, left them unmentioned.

A remix of Novus's own song. The piano theme is varied a little more and the drums have been changed from that typical bass-hat-snare-hat etc. beat to a funky and more creative drum beat. But still this is almost the same song, and if you have the original one, you should think that do you really want the same song twice on your HD? But if you don't have the original, get it! A remix of an old 4-chn MOD, and I'm so lucky that I have heard the original song, so I can see what Novus has himself done in the song. Well, this song has great piano riffs (like all Novus's songs), but that's about it. The drums are pretty poor, they are too quiet. The piano (though it is good) doesn't carry this song well enough. Though if youre more in to this kind of music than me, you might like this more than I do. Technically it's good (except for the oboe sample, my ears just didn't like it), but Novus hasn't really brought new ideas to the original song. This should be the first thing to think when you make a remix; "What new I can bring to make this tune alive again", or something like that. Well, it still is a good tune, but just not for my taste.

This is a pretty nice dance tune with lots of variation, so it doesn't get too boring. You can easily see that Novus usually does very different music than this, more like melodic ballads. One bad thing of the song is that it doesn't really have a lead instrument, which is pretty usual in these types of songs. Imagine all the cool dance songs out there, and first you will always think of that awesome lead tune, eh? ;) But it still is a fine dance song, so if youre a fan of this style or Novus, this is a definite download! Samples are all good. They are all (one exception) 8-bit, but it doesn't matter. One thing that I must complain is the drumming, which is good but it doesn't sound like a dance drumming. Remember to read the comments if you download this. The text fits great within the song. And one useless comment : The ending piano sounds a bit like start of the swedish dance band E-Types "Angels Crying". It just made me laugh... All samples are clean and high-quality, and they work great with each other. This is musically very rich song, with nice melodies. Actually this song has three parts, or different songs; First is when glorious ship Titanic starts its first (and last)voyage, and second, when people are traveling to find their new hopes across the ocean. Final part is ofcourse the sinking. Novus has managed to describe these situations very well, and you can almost imagine yourself in the ship. This is very creative piece of work. Many artist's wouldn't have this much ideas for three great songs The samples are all 8-bit, but their still quite good. Novus has done a great job with this song, string arrangements are great and the melodies change almost all the time, so you don't get bored. Also there is a nice idea of morse coding S.O.S in the last part of the song, and it gives the song even more unique touch. This style of music is not so heard in the tracking scene, but Novus did a fine job here.
