When you want to toy with a loop sample while retaining it intact, the 9xx command can be used trigger a sample in different positions. Its usefulness is a little limited when it comes to extremely high or low quality samples but otherwise, that's what I use.

Yeah, I know. Will read it later.

Looks like a nice resource at a glance. Only linking to the radio websites instead of (or in addition to) stream links would make more sense to me and it seems the background color should be #FFF instead of #F7F5F1.

Making a resampled copy of your sample indeed helps in a tight .MOD spot. And in the best case you'll find another use for the "new" sample in the song.

Tracking / Re: The Best VST/DX Plugins ?
« on: October 04, 2008, 12:59:09 »
So far I've relied only on free plugins and I plan to in the foreseeable future as well. But admittedly the majority of freebies is geared towards electronic and experimental stuff rather than realism. All this is fine by me but sometimes you need those real instrument sounds for a more acoustic feel. So instead of trying to find dedicated plugins for different instruments, most of the time I get nice results using the rgc:audio sfz plugin in combination with a good quality SoundFont, which there are plenty of available for free as well.

MilkyTracker Community / Re: building drum maps?
« on: October 04, 2008, 12:34:30 »
First you load your drum samples in the different sample slots of one instrument. Then in the instrument editor you click on the piano keys to assign notes to the currently selected sample. (Make sure the keyboard is in edit mode, not play mode.) As you can see, every note by default reads 0, so if you have selected sample 0, your clicking makes no difference. Try selecting another sample slot and build your kit like that.

Help me find that... / Re: Impulse Tracker v2.16

v2.16  is a registered version, the spreading of which discouraged Jeffrey Lim  from continuing the development of his shareware product. v2.14 Patch #5 is the latest freely distributable version.

The xmp-modpacker plugin could help with your original file.
